In addition to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, there are several U.S. Consulates in China and they are located in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenyang. Each Consulate serves a specific geographical area. Even though nonimmigrant visas are issued at all the Consulates and the Embassy, the immigrant visas are issued only from Guangzhou for the entire China.
