Notes:
Lessons learned:-
1.Dont send the passport using Fedex First Overnight.Because CKGS ofi ce will be open only by 9 am. Fedex First Overnight will try to deliver by Morning 8 so there wont be anyone to get your docs. It cost me 35$ extra when compared to Fedex Priority Overnight(deliver at 10.30 am)
2.No need to wait for call for match up mail from CKGS.Once the status changed to "Document received At NEW YORK CGI" in http://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury we can take a print out the status deatils and send the passport.
3.https://www.in.ckgs.us/trackandtrace/ the dates are updated in wrong format
Example:- all our applictaion staus were mentioned in"mm/dd/yyy" but the document dispatched from India to embasy is mentioned as "dd/mm/yyy" . so the websit listed the this only status change in last so i missed that. so always look for the dates in incorrect format.
FOr the entire month of July.. No changes..
Overall the process was smooth...
