221g Blue Slip - Chennai Consulate
Hi Guys,

I had my H1B Interview in Chennai last week and got a 221g blue slip saying administrative processing. VO retained my passport and didn't ask for any additional documents. My H1b is approved through consular processing and I'm working on CPT with 2nd master degree.

I work as full time employee and the interview questions were pretty basic. I thought my visa is getting approved the way interview went but at the end VO officer it needs additional processing.

Do you guys know any similar stories or how long the process will take?

Hello friends,

I am posting this for a friend who is in a very bad situation, kindly help by providing your valuable suggestions. here is the question below.

He has completed his masters and one year of OPT, then joined for second masters and working on CPT. This years his Employer filed H1 under consulate process and got approved. But during this process he has changed the client,

Please please help here with your experience friends..he has struggled all his life and finally working and trying get settle.

H1B visa stamping expired i94

Hi everyone,

I just got to know that my i94 has been expired and I am out of status, but have approved i797.

A little background on my situation:

Last year my H1B was picked in lottery and received an RFE on it, after replying to RFE - I got denial - for which my employer opened (motion to re-open case) MTR. While MTR was open I travelled overseas and upon return was given entry in US on my F1 visa(which was still valid).

After couple of days I got notification from lawyer that while I was away my H1B got approved, but it happened just when I was out of US.
Hence my entry to US on F1 superseded the COS.

This was caught by my lawyers last week only. My overstay period is around 82 days, but after finding this out I am immediately return to my home country.

please advise me what are my options are? I have already booked visa appointment to get H1B stamped.

H4 visa stamping
Hi. My H4 visa interview was on October 2, 2019 at Calgary, Canada. My husband is in USA, he received his i140 in August 2019. He do not has a stamped visa. So, for interview i carried all the required documents along with form i797. The first interviewer raised question for this and asked me to present primary applicants visa. Later fingerprinting was done and i moved to the last interviwer. She asked me that they are unable to trace the documents online. And asked me again and again that if my husband is still in US or not. Later she said that they do not see any problem in my case and just need the document verification from USCIS and have sent the email to the USCIS for the document verification. As soon they receive the response, they will proceed my case. She took the passport from me and handed me a form called administative processing, but i dont need to do anything like sending documents or anything. Finally she said that normally passports are received in 3-5 days.but for me it may take some more days.
Actually im in canada with my 6 month old baby. She is already due for her immunizations, that can be done once we reach US. At this moment im worried about the further process. I want to know if someone has faced similar situation? How many days USCIS takes to respond to US consulate.
Your suggestions and experiences are welcomed. Thanks in advance

H1B verbally approved but admin processing online
My visa interview was yesterday morning (Fri, Oct 4) at the New Delhi consulate. The interview was short (only 2-3 minutes) and I only had to provide information about purpose of travel, employer, responsibilities, compensation, location, education and experience. Only had to provide my passport and I797B. The officer verbally approved my application and took my passport (no paper given to me) and told me it would be ready in about a week's time. However, my status on the CEAC website says Administrative Processing. Unsure if that one week timeline for visa stamping is accurate anymore...

Context: F1 (BS) + 3yrs OPT, 3x H1B lottery miss, 1yr working in Ireland, 2019 H1B petition approved

H1B Extension Stamping- New Delhi
First of all, thank you for everyone sharing their experiences!

I had my H1B Extension Stamping at New Delhi at 10 in the morning.
The queue in the waiting area was long and I waited for an hour and a half to be finally called to the window.

The actual interview lasted 2 minutes and was very smooth.

VO asked passport and I797 and asked the following questions :

1. How long have you been working with the employer?
2. Who is your client?
3. How long have you been working with the client?
4. What is your salary?

Your visa is approved!

I was carrying all possible documents possible related to the petition, company papers, and client, but was not asked for any.
But it is always advisable to be carrying all possible documents.

Like many have said, for H1B extensions, if your petition papers and information provided are in order, the visa interview is just a conversation.
The same applies to Fresh H1Bs but they might need a few more details and you are good to go.

Good luck!
