They were asked only few questions.

My Mom is working and dad is retired person.

1. Show the interview letter, HDFC visa fee receipts and passport
2. What do you do in India?
3. How much do you earn?
4. What is your daughter doing in US?
5. What do you have in India (Properties)

Thats all. Didn't ask any documents to verify.

Good luck to all of you..

Visitor VISA for my mom
This website was very helpful in preparing the documents and preparing my mother for the interview for visitor VISA.The interview was on 6th December at Hyderabad in telugu language. My mother is a single parent so I had concerns about her getting VISA but she got the VISA!

Questions asked:
Why do you want to go to USA?
Who do you have in India?
When did your husband pass away?

And then she said "Your visa has been issued."

I had her practice for the interviews agan and again until she was completely comfortable.

The process of going into the consulate and the security check itself can be very intimidating for single parents who are going alone. Make sure you tell your parents about what happens inside the consulate. Some times the interview is over so quickly that parents often sont realize it. My mom thought that there was going to be an interview where she will sit down and talk to the officer :-)
Sounds silly but you dont know until you experience I guess.

Make sure to prepare well and for all questions on immihelp. The officer wont ask all questions but preparing will help to gain the confidence needed for the interview.

That's just my opinion. Hope this helps you and I sincerely wish you the best of luck!

visitor visa rejected
Hi,
my mother-in-law applies for tourist visa but the visa got rejected on 214-b.
questions asked:
what's ur name?
how many kids?
where do u want to travell?
why do u want to visit?
who are there in us?
she replied all the question we fixed interview in tamil.but she was bit afraid while answering, since she doesn't know english.she couldn't get the language the authorities spoke even though they asked in tamil she was not able to understand clearly.so her visa got rejected.
question: we plan to reapply for the interview..will they ask this question with my mom-in-law"why ur visa got rejected last time?"what answer should be given to the authority.please suggest us ..which will be helpful for her to answer easily.

Visitor Visa for mother rejected
My mother had her interview in Chennai consulate on 30-Nov. She is employed in Kuwait and she was on her leave in India and i thought to do her stamping from India. I think this was a mistake. The VO asked her usual questions like reason for visit, whereabouts about kids and all. In our application we have put the intended date of travel as March 2011. The VO asked her, "You are employed in Kuwait, and then how can you go to US from India". I really did not understand the point of this question and my mother replied She has her leave sanctioned to go . He did not ask her for nay documents and since he did not ask her any docs she did not show the leave approval letter that she got from her employer. After this question the VO told her Sorry Mam, can’t give you the visa now. I really don’t know what went wrong.
Was it a mistake to do her interview in India? Should i have tried in Kuwait? is there anything like that once its rejected you will never get a visitor visa? Do we have to show the supporting docs even if the VO did not ask for any docs? Please advice. Any advice or experience will be really appreciated.

Thanks,
PV
