Are interviews scheduled based on priority date or interview ready to schedule date?
Does anyone have insight into this? For example, if two people file on the same day, but one receives an RFI, such that the case is deemed "Interview ready to schedule" one month later than the other individual, could they still have their interviews scheduled around the same time? Thanks!!

Completed 485 interview this morning HOUSTON
PD July 2019.

Checked in and waited to get called in.
Called our number - lady said she didn’t need my USC wife. Just to ask me a few questions.

Asked me all yes/no questions. Updated mailing address. Didn’t show her any other documents except marriage certificate.

Approved on the spot- said the package we sent last summer was perfect.

I-765 initial review
I submitted a processing time inquiry since I filled in February and got my biometrics 2 weeks ago

They reply today:

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

Your Case Status: Initial Review

As of October 13, 2020, fingerprints relating to your Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, Receipt Number MSC, have been applied to your case.

They also said that they will send a biometrics appointment but I already had one. Does anyone knows what that “initial review” means?

Thank you!

Happy ending quick after interview
EB-2 NIW ROW, H1B holder

April 2020 I-693 RFE received, responded in 2 wks
Aug 2020 Biometrics appointment
Sep 2020 EAD/AP in hand
Sep 2020 RFE for Supplement J received, responded with half filled form explaining that RFE is irrelevant for NIW cases
Oct 2020 Interview schedule in mail
Oct 2020 appeared with family for interview

Officer asked mainly background and family-related questions. We were interviewed separately so be sure to know all the dates, travels, marriage, birthdays, etc. I had to guess some of the dates since I travel a lot and couldn’t remember what year I visited what country, etc. Overall, it wasn’t bad but any interview is potentially stressful. He asked similar questions to the spouse. Kids waited with one parent outside and didn’t come in. He said they need further review, but the approval notice date received 3 days later in mail has the same date as the interview, so the approval must have happened on the spot.

Oct 2020 card is picked up by USPS

The information beyond the “correspondence received” was not reflected on USCIS online system. I track my notices and card pick up/delivery via the USPS app. This was a great help since I knew what our mailman was going to bring and when, and rest assured nothing got lost without my knowledge. If you are in this process sign up for USPS informed delivery and also USPS mobile. This is why I know my green card has been picked up by USPS and it arrives in two days although there is no change in USCIS online status.

Wow! Looks like we are finally done. Totally unnecessary stress for years. Should’ve done it 5 years ago. I never thought the world would become so crazy and we would go through this amount of stress especially during the pandemic time.

Good luck everyone. Just be honest, tell the truth and you will be fine. Don’t listen to the president. It doesn’t make you look stupid or low IQ if you pay your taxes and tell the truth, even if it shows you are less than perfect!
