Hi all,

Lots of thanks to all of them who had posted ur experinces on this site so far. Ur experiences fetched me a lot.

I had my PA on Nov 16th @ the Chennai consulate at 9.45AM. We reached the consulate by around 9.05AM where we joined a BIG queue. Entered the Embassy after the security check by around 9.35AM. Got our documents verified with the Finger prints and proceeded to the adjacent building for the interview.

Our VO was a stout fair lady @ Counter No.3 The questions were as follows:

Greeted the VO with a smile and she too wished us in return.

VO: Since how long have you been married?
Me: Answered

VO: How did u get to know each other?
Me: Answered

VO: How many people attended your wedding?
Me: Gave some number.

VO: Show me ur wedding photographs.
Me: Handed over the small album which had 10 wedding ceremonial fotos and 10 reception fotos. The VO looked at a couple of the snaps with a broad smile.

VO: Who are your clients?
Me: Answered.

VO: What do u do for ur clients?
Me: Answered in a couple of lines.

The VO then asked me to place my thumb for the Finger prints and then asked my Spouse's left Index finger to be placed for impression.

She was keying in few things on her system. May be there was some problem with the system and things were not getting updated. The VO walked away from the counter for nearly 3-4 mins to get the things right. Tension was rising like anything. She came back and signed on our forms and gave back two copies with a golden message syaing "Please give a copy of this to your company and another at the US port of entry. Your Visa is issued. The passport will be couriered within a week's time."!!!

By 10.45 we were out of the consulate.

Regards,
Raj

Hello,

Im awaiting my PA date.. But Im scared that many of my friends have been rejects just for the reason that they are less than 3 yrs of exp..!

Hi,

I had the interview on the 6th of this month. Before going ahead with the details of the interview, I would wholeheartedly thank everyone in this forum for sharing their information, which was very helpful to me.

Now going ahead with my experience. I was first directed to a counter where they checked the forms and took a photo of mine (this photo was taken from my passport). Since I had applied for a L1 Blanket visa, i was directed to counter no. 12 of the next building where i was issued a receipt of my DD. I was then asked to join the queue where the interview was taken.

I could see some officers where asking questions and rejecting people and this set my pulse rate high as a collegue of mine alos got rejected.

Then was my chance.

I was just asked the following questions:

1) How long have u been with my present company?
2) How long have u been with the project?
3) What are your proposed duties there?

Then came the golden words "You will get ur visa in a week".

Regards,
Sujith

Hi,

Thanks you very much to all of you for sharing your experience. This forum is very useful.
I had PA with US consulate at Chennai on 5th nov at 8:30. I was a bit nervous on the day before, however i was confident and cool on that day.

It was very crowded on that day and i had to wait for about 2 hrs.
The VO was a young, friendly guy. At around 10:30, i was standing in front of him. Interview was simple and straight forward.

Me: Good morning. How do u do?
VO: Good morning, i am fine...how do u do?

Me: I am fine except i feel very hungry as i did not had break fast. (Never take take chance of beig so open to the VO, unless u are very sure)
VO: oops...we are sorry for that...i'll make it pretty fast

Vo: who is u client
Me: answered

Vo: Tell me about ur project
Me: answered

Vo: What exactly are u going to do there
Me: answered

Vo: How long have been working in this project
Me: answered

VO: Which tools do u use in ur application
Me: answered

Suggestions:
Prepare ur best and put the ball in luck's court. Be confident and dont let nervousness come on your face. it may give them the impression that you may be lying. Dont give them the impression that u may be a potential immigrent. They hate such people most.

Guys,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for sharing their interview experiences which has given me a lot of confidence and time to prepare for possible questions. So there was absolutely no reason for me to worry about the interview.

Below were the questions asked to me by the Visa Officer:

Greeted the VO with a big wide smile on the face who reciprocated the same :D

1. What do you do for XXX?
Informed about my Job role.

2. How long have you been with XXX company?
1 year 3 months

3. How long with the client?
1 year 3 months

That's it! Then came the golden words, Your Visa is issued. Welcome to US!

Some points to remember during your interview:
1. As everyone has mentioned, Wear business formals when you go for the interview.
2. Please be attentive inside the consulate since they announce the token number only thrice after which you will not get a chance
3. Avoid discussing about the questions asked to your colleagues inside the consulate
4. Don't get tensed by seeing other candidates rejections. It's either because their documents are not up to the mark, or they have made up some false information in the petition about which they are not able to provide justification to the VO etc Believe it or not, I saw 3 back to back L1 B Blanket rejections by the VO and I was interviewed by the same VO immediately after these rejections.
5. Be thorough with the contents of your petition
6. Wear your company badge/ id card at the time of the interview.
7. Provide to the point answers to the questions. Do not try to elaborate on something unnecessarily unless requested by VO. This will lead to cross-questioning by the VO.
8. Always wear a smile on your face at all times, doesn't matter even if you are trying to make up for the smile :D
9. Try to keep all the documents ready and easily accessible

The above points have been gathered based on my discussion with other candidates experience who had come for the blanket.

All the best to everyone!

My Visa interview date is on 22nd october.
First of all thanks to this forum, for helping me to prepare and boost confidence in me.
I have attended with my spouse, my shedule time is 9:45 AM.

There were 3 counters allocated for L1's and other counters were allocated for other visa's.

one of the counter has Fat black dressed white lady, asking questions left and right. and regecting Visa ,if hasn't satisfied with our answers.
2nd counter has one gentle man, he is asking few questions, but not tough.
3rd counter has gentle man ,and he is not asking more queries, and simply issuing VISA.

Luckly, i went 3rd counter,he asked 2 simple questions and issued VISA.
 those 2 are
       1. when you married?
       2. what you are doing for your client XXXX?

My suggestion is, be confident and prepare answers for frequently asking questions and reharse it at least once.

Thanks,
