Hi all,

This forum helped me in getting L1B visa.

Following questions were asked to me by Mumbai Consulate:

Q: Why you want to go to US?
Q: Where will you be going in US?
Q: Where do you work in India?
Q: What is your total prof. experience?
Q: What is your highest qualification?
Q: Where did you do your masters?
Q: How much will you be paid in US?
Q: How much are being paid in India?
Q: Where do you work in India? (he asked this question again)
Q: What kind of tools have you developed?
Q: How is your client?

After answering all these question, he told me that I am granted the visa.

All answers I gave were 1 sentence, not more than 5 to 6 words.
My interview was at mumbai consulate at window 4, on 10th june at 9:00 am.

All required is faith in God and nothing else.

I went for blanket L1 interview and visa got rejected. Rejection was only due to ignorance and I would like to share my experience.

For L1 you cannot say you will be doing support, the word support is having a different meaning other than we software folks use, it means you can cancel my visa :-). Though all the products you do for your customer are being used by the customer for his customer dont mention a third party or customer during the interview. I could see my application being torn into pieces right infront of me. I have specialized knowledge but didnt find time to educate myself before going for the interview.

All the best folks !!

After that there was security check for any mobile, sealed covers, electronic goods.
After that i wentin. The counter guy verified the BEP documents and told me to go to counter 12 for visa interivew.
There was just 10 members standing in the queue. I saw all members were granted visa's.
I was seating in a chair (enough seats was also available) for 30-40minutes.

I: (got little tensed) Showed all the documents that i had
Visa Officer: (Golden words came) Sir, Your visa is issued. You will receive your passport in 7days
I: Thank you mam

Hi All,
I had my interview on 30th of May at 11:30 AM. As soon I entered the roon around 11:30, after the document checking and scanning all your 10 fingers, we had people waiting for interview to happen from earlier slots. I got my turn aroung at 3 PM in the afternoon. The visa officer just asked me only one question
Q-What type of VISA you have applied for.
and later he said your visa is approved and would get your passport in 2 or 3 days.

First of all i want to thank this site and other member who are sharing their experiences. This site is great.

I would begin telling the whole thing, so that some of the minor things may also prove helpful.

My interview was scheduled at 10.15 AM, i went to the consulate at 9.30. There were some security police people and some VFS guys outside the building and near the gate. VFS guys ask me to come back at 10.00 AM just 15 min before the interview. As outside temparatures are hot i went to the adjacent bus stand ibn front of the oxford university press and stood for 30 minuts. After that i went and stood again in the queue.

Intially, outside of the building a security personal will check your appointment letter and passport. After that i went inside the building.

Again there will be a security check for checking whether you are carrying any electronic items, mobiles etc. After that you would be send inside another room.

There were many counter and one guy came to ask me the kind of visa, and asked me to stand in one of the counters.

In the queue my turn came and i greeting the officer saying very good morning sir. He too said good morning sir. He took my BEP folder that i was carrying and checked all the documents. Don't forget to carry 3 original copies of i129 and 1797 forms and original petition. He checked everything and asked me give 10 fingers finger prints. After that he stapiled some of the documents and returned me the documents and said me go to the other next building.

I went inside the next building, to my surpise there was big queue. There was a guy standing asked me to pay 22,000 Rs DD in counter number 12. I paid the same. Next i stood in the long queue. In the queue all H1,F1,L1 etc all were standing.

There were around 8 counters and all foreign guys were interviewing. I stood for around 1 hour in the queue. Suddenly one guy came and asked all L1 candidates to go to counter 7, to my surprise now i was standing 2nd. My tension started now.

My turn came.

Me: Hi sir, very good morning.
Vo: Good morning sir.
Vo: Took my folder and started checking in the
    computer.
Vo: How long you are working in this company.
Me: 3 years
Vo: What are your specialized skills.
Me: I said on what projects i'm working. i just
said the whole thing in 3 sentenses.
Vo: Asked me give my right hand middle finger
    print.

By this time he started stamping and signing the documents and said the golden words, "your visa is issued sir", and gave back stamped i129 documents. To this i was very happy and greeted him back saying have a nice day sir.

Thats it.
