First of all Thanks a ton to IMMIHELP Team for such good platform for sharing experiences.

Here goes my experience:
I believe the consulate people are very comfortable with our company as they started with the short form (ABC) itself. It made me feel comfortable with the VISA officer.
I was asked to have my Left Thumb scanned first otself and then he slowly started with the questions. So here goes the questions:

1.Q. How long have you been with ABC?

  A. I have been with ABC for about 21 months.

2. Q. Who is your client?

  A. Our client is XYZ.

3. Q. How long are you with the client?

  A. I am working with the client for the past 19 months.

4. Q. Whats your specialization?

 A. I have a specialized knowledge on ABC tools.

5. Q. So, How special are you from others?

 A. I have been with the same client for about 19 months and I have experience of customizing the ABC tools for our project purpose. (He was convinced and said that I will be getting my passport within a week through courier).

Your comments/Suggestions:

Good preparation => Boosts confiedence => Alertness => Proper dresscode => Answer to the point => VISA is yours.

I got 221(g) for BL1 in feb'08 and was told that the project does not suit visa type. But for the same proj my friend got BL1. Can I reapply for BL1 now with a different project?

Hi All,
Thanks to this wonderful site which had loads of information for L1B visa interview. I was almost prepared for it and went in there quite confident. My visa experience was a mixed one. I had this Big guy as VO in front of me and he was not happy about something( i dont know what..maybe weather or the people around). As prepared, I greeted him with a big smile and a Good Morning wish. He was not too sure what to reply, so he smiled for a change(I was watching this guy for long and was praying to God that I dont get interviewed by him...plzzz). He was really making me nervous by looking at my papers for first 2-3 minutes without asking anything.
And then he broke his silence and asked some patent questions:
1) For how long you have been with xxx ?
2) For how long u intend to stay in US ?
3) For how long are u working on this project?
4) What are ur special skills ?

I was answering them quite confidently but here he dropped a big unexpected question to me...

I just interviewed a guy from your team who had the same knowledge as u have...so why are u both going there..since i approved his visa..u may stay back(this weirdo doesnt know that i was desperate to get my visa..and i really dont know who that guy was from my company who rescheduled his interview today..)
I said...being confident enough of myself..that i have been with this and this client and i am the only one to do so...and i believe i had this special skill of my product and my project requirements are such that i need to be in US.

Then, the VO..not giving up..asked me...well then, you may work from India too, why is it that ur team always requires a guy in US to do so...now this freaked me out...I replied since there needs to be someone present in the same time zone to attend the project scheduling and estimation meetings, i need to be there...

Thankfully, he was convinced enough now after 20 minutes of "not so" expected questions and he said...Mr. Kumar, your Visa is approved, you will receive it in next 3 days...that it..I thanked him..big fella..i better do so...

Moral: - Be prepared for all the answers, expected as well as unexpected and answer them Confidently with a big C.

Hi All,

First of all, I thank all those who shared their experience in this site and also thank the site for hosting the same.

My PA was on 30th April 2008 at 12 PM. I reached the Visa cell at 11:00 AM. But I was asked to come back again at 11:45 AM. So I waited till 11:45 AM in the bus stop and went to the Visa cell.

Visa Officer asked the following questions:
1. Who is your client?
2. Whats your experience with this Client?
3. What are the tools you are specialised in?
4. How are you going to use this in your project?

Thats it. I answered all the above questions and the Officer granted me Visa.

Hi everyone,

I have gone through this portal before going for my interview. It really helped me.

My interview was on 2nd May at 9:30.
I reached there at around 7:30. There was quite a huge queue.
All people having interview at 9:30 were asked to come near office and form queue by 9:15. Then he started asking for Passport, Pink receipt etc. as soon as he saw blanket petetion he again asked to divide queue in 2, 1 all blanket L1 visa type and other for all the other visa type.
After that he allowed all the other visa type persons to go inside and we were asked to have our passport, DD, Petition, and two copy of I129 in hand. Then one lady came out and collected all these from L1 blanket queue. After 15 mins she gave us token. We were standing in queue from 9:15 to 10:15. It was so hot outside the office, so I suggest to carry an umbrella or cap. we were becoming impatient as even 10:30 people were allowed in but L1 blanket people were not. Finally they asked us to go in.
First security check
second documents collection
third finger prints and finally
they called for interview.

Mine was 3rd turn on that window. Before my interview that lady rejected visa of one guy so was bit nervous. but when i went inside interview went as follow.

VO: Good Morning! how are you doing?
Me: I am fine, How are you doing?
VO: Me too fine. Thank you. Big smile.
Me: Smiled.
VO: Can you give me 2 mins please
Me: Yes sure.
VO: Ok so what is purpose of your trip?
Me: Answered.
VO: Doing some paper work and checking in computer.
VO: What do you do for your company?
Me: Answered.
VO: Who is your client and where is he in US?
Me: Answered.
VO: How long you will be there in US?
Me: Answered.
VO: How many team members at offshore?
Me: Answered.
VO: Are you going to play role of Team lead there at US?
Me: No
VO: Whom will you report?
Me: My project manager sitting at client place next to me.
VO: which Degree you have?
Me: Answered.
VO: I am approving your visa you will receive passport within 2-3 days thank you.
Me: Thanks a lot!

Be patient and visa is yours.

Note: I had light heena in my hand so was worrying whether finger prints will be done or not? But dont worry, it didnt affected finger prints. Infact there were lot many other girls for L2 and H4 (newly wedded girls) who also had dark heena in hand.

I got my BL1 Visa got approved.My appointment is at 12.00 O'clock.I am standing in the Queue for almost 1.30 hrs, as most of the VO went for lunch. AS my turn comes

Vo : Hi
I : Hi,Very Good aftermoon
Vo: How many yrs of Experience do you have?
I : Near to XX years
Vo: To Which Client you are going to Work?
I: XX Client
Vo: What type of Visa you have applied for L1-A?
I : I Said it's for L1-B (Specialized Skills).
Vo: I am approving your L1B.
I : Thanks you Sir

That's all.He started Signing the I129s document and returned me 2 copies of it and returned all the unwanted documents.Thanks immihelp.

 I refered this site for 2 or 3 hours only. It was very useful.

I have been asked the questions:
1. Which company you are working for?
2. How long you are with current company.
3. Where are u going to work?
4. What is the product "Product Name".

I have been issued visa. No specific quetstions for L2.

I am so happy. Friends, Plese keep adding your experience, don't hesitate.

My L1B Visa Stamping dated on 23 April 2008 at 9 AM in Mumbai consulate.
I have submitted all L1B Visa related doc's to our company travel desk 10 days before stamping and they submitted to VFS.Then i searched in Google L1B Visa Stamping interview questions. i got post your experience link and i red all of them experiences.i have praticed all the questions in my point of view.after that i have got confident.Finally my date was arrived and i was reached at 8 AM.There were 3 lines are there one after other.AT 10AM I was in 2nd line.Then there were vfs guys,they were separeted into two groups one is general and L1B.All general peopele went fast.AT 10:45 one lady came and taken passport,interview oppientment letter,1-129 two xerox copies,one petition xerox copy and if required DD.She has given pink card nothing but token number.at 11am she sent to inside for security checkup and after that one lady given all the doc's which she has collected earlier and also she added D-156 and D-157 forms.i have seated there.They called for finger prints and they have taken all the doc's and they sent to interview counters.But we need to keep pink card nothing but token number with us.At arround 11:15 to 11:30 Am they announced some token no's and counter no.in that my number was there.But concentrate on numbers and counter.before that in my L1B Batch some guys no's came and they were attending interview and they were got visa.tension started i was thinking what will happen my case.my chance came.

VO:How are you?
my self:I am good.How about you? and how are you doing?
VO:good
VO:Are you attending first time?
my self:Yes
VO:Why are you going to USA?
my self:TO work on xxxx project.

my self:i said my client name(what ever there in petition)
VO:Approving the visa and you will get your passport within 5 days.

--Be cool and Be concentrate on what he is asking and give reply one or two sentences.Every body can get visa.

THe L1 Stamping PA was really easy, it's only if you're alert and clear when U answer. I got just 4 questions
- Will you be Working for your company or it's client (Ans: I will be working for my client XYZ)
- How long do u intend to stay in US (Ans: Duration mentioned in ur Petition)
- What kind of work do get involed (Ans: Gave a brief description about my project in layman terms)
- How long are you associated with you company(Ans: --years--months)

This site was very informative for me 2 prepare for my L1 Blanket stamping. I had my appointment on April 1st 2008 at 09:45 AM @ Delhi embassy. I had reached consulate by 9:00 AM and allowed inside. Actually there are two separate queues, one for General and other one is Priority (Sr. Citizens & BEP candidates).

The following questions were asked to me...

• How long ur working 4 ur company?
• Who is your client?
• What is ur project ur going to work on?
• From how many months you are working for this project?
• What's your total year of experience?
• Tell me about your Specialization?
• Explain the tools which your are using?

Thats it!!!!
