This is a great forum and a big thanks to all the people who have shared their experiences.

I had my interview on 19th March. The questions were the usual ones discussed in detail in this forum.

L1 questions-

-Client Name
- Total experience in current organization and Managerial experience
- Number of reportees in USA
-Annual Compensation
- Proposed number of projects to be managed at onsite
- Nature of the projects.

L2 question-

- How long have you been married?

As stated earlier by others in this forum, higher the number in your answers for points 2,3,4 and 5, the better are your chances.

Also, clear, crisp, confident and precise communication is just priceless.

This site has truly helped me prepare for my visa interview and clear it.
I have gained the experience while going through the posts that your confidence is the key to success. However, i would also like to add a point here as i myself had felt it. I was pretty nervous the night before the PA. In the morning i felt quite light before the interview, when a thought flashed across my mind that all questions asked by the visa officer would be about me, then why the fear and the nervousness. This has really eased out the blockade in head. Couple of points asked by me were:
>the place in US i am going to work
> client name
> information about the client
> duration i spent with the client
> duration with my current org
> my prior experience
> position in my previous orgn
> total managerial experience
> my team size
> offshore and onsite team size
> number of direct subordinates
and one point asked to my wife is the date of our marriage.
I wish all the L1 applicants all the best for the interview.

Questions to L2 :
1. Since how long you have been married?
2. What is your husband's DOB?
3. Is your husband a good cook or a bad cook?

Questions to L1B:
1. Experience with the current compy?
2. Current package in India?
3. Qualification?
4. What is your specilization?
5. How many people trained in this skill set?
6. What kind of tools you use?
7. Have you been to US before?

Then the VO said your visa is approved and you will receive your passport within 5 working days.

Thaks to all who shared their experiences for the visa interview on this site and was very helpful for the preparation.

My L1B visa approved on 16th but those 3 mins were not easy. VO was grilling like anything and they are not giving visa easily.

It was rejected for guy ahead of me insted he was very fluent in his answers. But his technology was very common and I think it went negative for him.

Questions asked to me......

1. Have you been in US before.
Ans- YES
2. Your Indian Salary
3. Your total and current comp exp.
Ans..Total 8 and 6 with current comp.
4. What is your project about..
Ans..I explained him abt my project completely and he asked my project name (Tool) again and searched on Google I guess.Then he keep on grilling me how much person were involved,how much time it took, what time it will take to enhance..

Then she asked few routine questions to my wife..

and then he stamped I129 form and approved my visa as specialized category.

questions asked as follows

VO:Hello, good morning
me: good morning.
VO: how are you doing today?
me: I am doing great, how about you?
VO: I am doing good too...
VO: Where did you come from?

VO: How was your flight?
me: It was good

VO: Which company you work for
me: ZZZ

VO: What is your indian salary
me; ZZZ

VO: How long are you working in this company?
me: X years Y months

VO:What are you specialized at?
me:I explained my specialization briefly but to the point.

Then she asked my wife,

Are you working for ABC company?

Wife: I used to work for ABC company, NOw, I have left the job.

Then she gave us two copies of I129 and I 797 forms and said dont put this in your check-in luggage as this will be required to you while travelling to U.S.

You will get your passport within 7 days.

me: Have a great day. Thanks!!!!

is she right
I said - 'not really'

your visa has been approved. You will receive ur passport in 5-7 working days...

Thanks to this site, i and my wife was confident about the interview.

The questions were
1) so you work for xxx company
yes sir

2) who is your client
I currently overlook 2 projects one client is xxx and other is yyyy

3) what is your salary INR?
xxx rs

4) Where you will be working in USA?
xxx

5)Have you travelled to US before
yes sir, two times.

6) what is your highest level of education?
Masters in engineering..

to my wife
1) how long you have been married
2) is your husband good cook?
3) what is your husband's date of birth


Then VO said i am approving your visa.
Important thing is maintain eye contact, have a smiley face, dont show any nervousness and be confident in your answers.

Thanks everyone. This site was really helpful in my interview preparation. The questions mentioned in this site are the standard ones. Preparing for them will help us make a cool and assured start to the interview and make a good first impression.

The rest of the questions will be spontaneous and based on your previous answers.

In my case, other than the regular set of questions, these questions were asked

1) How often you would do evaluation for your team members?
2) Among your team members, how would you identify a weakest link and what would you do?
3) How much time would you plan for training for your team members?

From my experience, being genuine is the most important thing. Also there is no LUCK factor, if you have put your 100% and your case is genuine your case will be approved.

1. Went to chennai consulate 20 mins before, gave the vfs paper and got the token #, after security check, went inside, my token # displaying immediately and directly went to counter
she asked the foto in the confirmation paper was took in the last 6 months or not, i told no. it was taken a year back, she told me took new foto at the last counter,
one photgrapher was there, he took fotos for rs.100 and gave the new fotos to the counter in 5 mins.
2. went to another counter for finger prints after that
3. went to adjacent building (main area :))
4. went to counter and gave the dd
5. watching for the token # and counter for the visa interview
6. after 15 mins, climax started, my token # was displaying with counter #
7. went there,, keep saying all is well.. (becoz my heart beats more fast than normal) here starts the game

vo - he started siging my papers and kept seal on my i129s
vo - showed me one book let - asked- hav u gone thru this
me - no sir
vo - I will give u one, just take a look, give one of the i129 to hr and keep one with u while going to us
me - birds started feathering inside for me, but not flying.. and i was waiting for the word
vo - u r visa is approved and will reach u in 4 - 5 days
me - now the birds started flying .. told thank u and bye and left the place immediately fast..

Me and my wife had interview on 15th march.
I have prepared myself well for the interview with all the possible questions mentioned in immi help.

I dressed up nicely and went.
I have all my documents ready , accessible at hand.
Here everything goes very fast. So keep passport, conirmation letter, interview appoint copy, hdfc copy in order.
For L1 blanket , keep DD from any nationalized bank with indian rupess (equal to $500) also ready.

I waited for my turn , viewing at LCD.
Went near the counter 24 and standing infornt of officer with smile.
Me: good afternoon...Sir and gave case documents
VO: good afternoon, how are you?
me: I am fine and how are you sir..
VO: Fine. Have you been to US before.
me: NO
VO: Which company you work for ?
me: YYYY X company, which is product base company
VO: How many years of experience
me: X years, X months sir. ( I had very good exp >8)
VO:what is your salary ?
me: pppppppp per anum sir.
VO: What you do ?
me: I will work for company's XYX properietory products based on xyz technology.

(At this time VO was doing something and asked something which is not heard. I waited for 1 minute, then he gave my documents and said "Your VISA is approved and you will receive with in a week")
I was in bit shock because I didnt complete my answer and no further questions.
me: Thank you sir and have a good day sir
VO: wished something.

No questions for my wife.

Everything completed in an hour.....

Good company name, years of exp and indian salary are fine then skills doesnt matter.
Othewise will ask you question on special skills, What you will do in US etc..
