L1B rejected
I went to Delhi Embassy for my L1B. VO asked me only 3 questions:
1. Have you ever been to US before
2. Who is your client
3. What you will be doing for your client.

No other question.
My observations: All the time VO was not at all listening to my answers he was bussy in his own work and finally without giving attension he returned all my docs back and marked my docs "Not Clearly Approvable" without giving any reason and suggested me to go for L1 Individual or H1. Even before me that VO sitting on Counter 17 he rejected even tourist VISA as well....I really dont know at what they are up to.....Situation is very bad here.....really feeling very bad....

Today I had a L1B/L2B interview today at Kolkata.I had L1B (for same client) and B1 visa previously, But faced it is little bit difficult this time to get the visa. Lots of questions were asked and also it took around 10 minutes to convince them that I am a specilized professional.
Details: Interview time was 9.00 AM, I reached there at 7:45, after the initial security checking we had to wait till 10.00 for our turn.
VO: GM
Me: GM
VO: What do you do?
Me: Told in details.....
VO: Why you are moving?
Me: to work for xyz project
VO:Why it is not possible from here to work on that?
Me: Told in details the difficulties from here.
VO: How many years r u working on this project?
Me: Nearly 5 years.
VO: What r the things u learnt and how do you specify yourself as a specialized?
Me: Told about the functional and business knowledge i learnt during the last 5 years.
VO;That is your cleit side knowledge? What did you learn from your own company?
Me:As I am working for the same project for long time, my specilization is about the client business.
VO: No I want to hear if any special tool or technology did you learn or not?
Me:I told about the system i worked for this 5 years.
VO; then both you client and your own company use the system? then it is not a rare system, many people can work, so why your client is not hiring a professional from onsite?
Me:Explained in details
Vo: During your company and client relationship, how many us citizen were sacked?
Me: none, as it is a new project.
VO:But now a days lots of people from your company are coming who want to work for the same client as yours, that means many people are being sacked there.....
Me:I convinced them no US citizen were sacked....

She satisfied....

For L2B:
VO: Arrange or Love Marriage?
My spouse: Love
VO: tell me how did you meet first time?
She explained....

then VO suddenly told the word "Okay im approving your visa....."

Lat time when I had my L1B in 2008, it was much easier....
All the best.....be confident, and prepare well before you go for interview, also try to maintain eye contact.....But confidence is the only key..

L1 B Blanket - Approved - 05/04/2011
Hi,

This forum has really helped me to get my L1 B Visa today. I read through some of the experiences of people and understood what and what not to talk in the Visa Interview. My interview went like this:

Me : Good Morning Sir.
VO : Good Morning. Can I have your documents?
Me : Sure sir. ( Gave my documents )
VO : What is your work experience in the current company ?
Me : XX Years.
VO : What is your Specialized Skill ?
Me : I specialize in YYYY product . (Started Explaining about the Product) . I kept repeating that this Product is ABC's (my company) proprietary product and I have specialized knowledge on the Fucntional and Technical part of this product. Kept talking more on the product ...
VO : (Interupted). What do you do in the US ?
Me : (Explained my roles and responsibilities)
VO : You only have XX years experience. How do you claim to be an expert ?
Me: (Very confidently) I have worked on this domain for more that XX years in my previous organization and have rich knowledge on the Business. Together with rich functional and technical knowledge combined with my client customization experience makes me unique in the project and hence I was selected by my Clients to implement their requirements.
VO : ( He said the Golden Words ) .Thank you sir , your visa is approved.
Me : Thank you very much Sir. I really appreciate that.
VO : Your visa would be sent to your office in a week.
Me : Thanks a lot sir. Have a good day.

Be Confident and talk clearly. All they look for is HOW CONFIDENT YOU ARE. Also please go in Business Formals. A tie for men would give more professional look. All the best.

Hi,

This is a wonderful forum and i have got many information from it. Keep sharing the information irrespective of you got through or not that would be very helpful for the future applicants.

I had my interview on April 4th morning 8am at chennai consulate. I reached there by 7 am and had a security check at 7.30 am( don't keep mobiles and any electronic items with you) and then i have been issued a token no. This token no will be unique through out the process. and then i moved to next building where the Finger prints are taken. There will be many counters and we can find out the respective one through the LCD Display. After fingerprints are being taken they asked me to move to the next building where visa interview will happen. Cash counter is available in the same building(14th counter) and i have given my DD and cheque and got back a receipt from the cashier. Then i was asked to wait along with other people for my turn to come for the interview. There was also LCD displays available and Token no's will get generated in random for to attend the interview . I had to wait for 10 minutes and reached the counter.

I was little bit nervous which we shouldn't be. The previous person in the queue argued with the consulate person and she made her angry and so he got rejected too. My nervousness got increased by seeing it.

she called me by my token no and i went to her and greeted her. she also replied with the greeting.

The questions are below.

What is your experience with the current company?
What is your Total experience?
What is your income?
What is your specialization?

I couldn't able to convince her for the last question and she told me that , my skills are generic and wouldn't able to provide this specialized visa and rejecetd it.

I personally request all to prepare well for this question as this is an important for L1B.

Below questions are very important so prepare well and more important project those well during your interview with high level of confidence.

What is your roles and responsibilities currently and in United States.
How you are specialized?
Why You?
