L1 B - Approved.
I have been visiting this forum eversince got my visa date... no doubt this is a great place to share experience..

My Questions :

1. How long with the company ?
2. What are you going to do in the US ?
3. Who is your client ?
4. How many people work on this tool ?
5. What is your experience ?
6. How many people selected for this assignment from your company ?
7. How many are currently working at the client site ?
8. Why you are going to work for this client ?

Overall.. it did seem like too many questions compared to some of colleauges who faced the interview before... in really I wasnt even prepared for most of the questions she asked... after I answered all these questions.. she was looking at me for a moment.. I thought.. m gone.. but there came the golden word. "your visa is approved, I will give you 129......!!... I apparently didnt hear nything after that out of the happiness..and jst slipped away.. :):)

Keypoints :

- Be confident in what you speak (one of the most deciding factor)
- Know about your company, client, and your proeject very well.. in terms of what they do.. approximate headcount etc..
- Maintain eye contact (they might not be looking at you all the time.. but they would try to judge you based on your body language..!!

All the Best...!!!

L-1B and L2 visa approval
We had our visa interview at 8:45am today @Hyderabad and our visas (both L1 n L2) are approved.

We reached the consulate by 8:20AM and saw a big queue...it took us around 1.5hrs to reach the final security gate at the consulate, where complete security check was done.
when I say complete check, men are supposed to remove their belts, wallets, watches, pocket combs and anything n everything you are carrying in your pockets and women are supposed to take out their bangles, watches. They gave us a big tray to place all these items along with the docs for electronic scanning.

Once security checks, fee payment and finger print scanning are complete, we went to the VO, fingers crossed!!!

Me: Gud morning mam (with a big smile on my face, handed-over the docs)

VO: Gud morning!!! where are you working?

Me: YYYY XX name

VO: Since how long are you working with YYYY X company?

Me: X years

VO: What is your role?

Me: Currently I am working for "YY" team and I am being transferred to the US as "xxxxx" (designation) where I will be responsible for "zzzzzzzz"

VO: What is your specialisation

Me: I am xxxxx certified engineer
(suddenly she interrupted me and started asking questions to my wife)

VO: where are you working young lady?

My wife: xxxxxxxx company

VO: (with a gud smile) so, are you planning to take a break for some time?

My wife: <replied accordingly>

VO: You will get your passports in a weeks time

With a sigh of relief, myself n my wife returned home...

All da best to those who are attending their Visa interviews.

My suggestion would be "stay cool n relaxed, stand straight and answer with good confidence"

Thanks a ton to immihelp.
I had my appointment today @ 8:30am. Questions raised by the VO are

1) Do u have any prior work experience other than the comapny you are working for?

2) What's your specialization ?
(Whenever u say some thing anout tools they do check with the list they have and see if the tool is really required in the market. So better say you are 1) Specialized in system knowledge 2)Expert in the enhanced application which you are going to implement)

3) Why should the company select you for this task other than the people in ur company/ or in the US ? You need to prepare for this before you stand infront of them.

4) Total experience in the Client project. (If your work experience with the client is quite high then they trust you. In my case it was 5 years )

L1B Blanket approved at Kolkata
Hi,

My Visa got approved today.

The questions asked were:

VO: what is your specialization and What work have you done for YYYY client?
Me: Specialization... (point wise) explained project work(analysis, design, etc etc). Explained the future work in project.
VO: But this is an H1B work, that you are explaining.
ME: But, I developed YYYY application and my presence is needed. Blah Blah..
VO: Ok, am approving your request.
Me: Thanks.

You need to convince the VO about the importance of your contribution in the project. Else, they will reject it.
