Please help me
Hi

I was informed by a colleague at work that from January 1, 2011, a new rule has been enforced for L1 visas - if an employee is issued a visa for a client 'xyz', then he/she must travel to the U.S. at least once for the client 'xyz', and only then can the employee be allowed to work for a different client.

Has anyone heard/read about this? If yes - please share any URL that you might have where this change was published.

In my case, the project was shelved after my petition was approved, but the visa was issued for the same client since discussions are ongoing to revive the project. Will this be considered in case the project is not revived?

L1 B Approved at HYD
I really appreciate the efforts of immihelp team for keeping up the site 24x7. Thanks to all the users who post their valuable information on this website.

I was very nevrous till my appointment date. On the Visa appointment day I went to Consulate early in the morning around 7.30am as my appointment is scheduled at 8.15am. After looking at the Consulate building I was ready to give my interview.

Initially I entered through the main gate. where I showed the Passport and Interview Letter.

Then I was in a small queue where a lady will check the HDFC receipts, passport and Interview confirmation letter. Then she will be returning the documents that are couriered to VFS. She will be telling what are the final documents that needs to be kept under BEP folder. And to which window/counter you need to proceed.

Then entered for body scanning where you will be scanned. All your belongings will be checked through electronic scanning. If any electric items found then they will be sending you back to put it outside the consulate.

Once you are done with the body scan, then you will be going for HDFC receipts submission. You need to write your passport number, name and mobile number on the back of Demand Drafts. Then a receipt is given to you after payment.

Then you will be told to go to another window/counter for finger impressions scan. All ten fingers will be scanned.

Then you will be given a token for interview.

Your token number will be announced in speaker. If your token number is announced then you need to proceed to the respective counter.

This is the crucial minute.

Here i was asked only one question

VO: What do you do in xxx(company name)?
Me: I work for a project called yyyy

VO: yyy is a zzzz company right
Me: Yes

Then the golden words came "Your visa has been approved! You will be receiving your passport in another 3-4 working days"

For a minute I was blank, whether really my visa has been approved or not. Even after I came out of the counter, I was really checking whether my passport is with me or with the Visa officer..

Yooooo !! I did it :)

I would say I'm one of the luckiest guy.. Hardly it was 10secs for me.

Remaining people who were with me for L1 visa are also getting approved.

Thanks to Immihelp once again and thanks to all visa aspirants.

All the best:)

L1B Visa approved
Appeared on Jan 19,2011.Visa Approved.
Questions asked:
1)Who is your client?
2)Can you spell it?
I think the visa officer searched the client name in Google.
3)How long you have been working for the client?
4)What is your specialized skill?
I told that I developed a form viewer reading the data files given by the CPAs.
5)How long you took to develop the same?

Then came the golden words.
Please maintain eye contact and prepare crisp answers in simple English for the questions that are discussed in this site.

All the Best!!!

L1A visa
Please make sure you know the roles and responsibilities of a manager well before you go in for this kind of visa.

Also make sure you convey across that you will be playing pretty much the same role in the US

All the best

Got L1!!!
Hi,
Thanks to the Forum. I am asked just 2 questions and informed that I will get my passport in 3-4 days. I am not asked to produce any document by the VO. I am dumb stuck for a moment and not able to understand is it really done or not. I said thanks to VO and immediately walked away from counter fearing that the VO may change his mind call me back. But it dint happen. Until I get my passport, I was not sure whether I will really get my passport stamped with a visa or not. Visa is just matter of luck. I have a suggestion to the ppl who did not get it. I understand that everyone feel embarrassed for few days. But US Visa is not everything. India is land of opportunities, you just need to grab them at right time. Be prepared to identify and exploit the opportunities. Plan your career but just do not go by the wind. We may have a comfortable life and make some fast bucks in US but not have a HAPPY & SATISFACTORY LIFE. I am not much excited to travel to US cause I truly believe in what I mentioned above.

I am not going to US whole heartedly. The reason I am going to US is not to earn more money but to see closely how the projects are executed. Onsite experience for couple of years helps me to get better position, salary and start own business when I am back to India

Questioned Asked:
1. Who is your employer
2. What is your role in US

Good Luck!!

L1A and L2 approved at Chennai Counsulate
Hello All..First of all I would like to thank immihelp for this wonderful service which has helped us in preparing ourselves for the interview and get to know overall process.

We had our D day on Jan 18th, 2011 at 11 am. We reached the consulate at 10.15am went through all the verification process and ten-printing.We were then directed to visa lobby for the final countdown. There were lot of people waiting and our turn came around 12.15 pm after 90 minutes wait. We joined the counter and waiting for our turn. In the meanwhile we had observed people coming back carrying their passports with them. This made us shock and looking over to see if we can join other counters. But with no option left we continued to wait in the same counter.

VO: Good Morning Sir
Me: good morning mam

VO: What are your roles and responsibilities in US?
me: Explained my profile

VO: How long with this company:
Me: X year Y months

VO: Would you be working for client or internally?
Me: Internally

TO my Wife:

VO:Where are you going to US?
Wife:ABC

VO: How old are your married?
Wife: PQRS

VO: How did the proposal come to you?
Wife: we replied

VO: How long you know him?
Wife: X years

VO:How many people attaned your marriage?
Wife: DEF people

Also the VO asked for marriage certificate and photos.

She was looking in to the computer and then golden words came " Your visas are issued" but within a fraction of second we got a blue slip stating our petition details were not refelcting in their database and our passpots wil get dispatced in one week time. The good part is they took the passports with them so we had a confirmation that our visas got approved.

L1 B Admin Processing
I had my interview on Dec 14 at New Delhi. The VO asked usual questions about work, specialization etc. I have 10+ years of experience in my field, hence I thought it should be smooth enough. But the VO told me that he needs to look more thoroughly and hence my application is in admin processing. Then he redirected me to a lady who gave me a pink slip with a list of questions similar to those I have already answered in my petition. I had sent the response to questions over email on 22 Dec. Now waiting for the response. My passport is also with emabssy so I am kind of stuck now.
