Hello friends,

i would like to give you some information because i'm working as technical recruiter in on US Based company so i have seen many people every year applying from my company.

you will find more 221G than Stamping cases here that means not that many people got 221g. what happen when someone got 221g he starts to find what reason can be for this and that way he come to this site and write down his or her experience. while someone got stammped he would be very happy person he spen his time to injoy it very few good person write their exp here.

on everage we can say 95 people outof 100 people get H1b and 4 people who got 221g also get their h1b but little late if they have not submitted fake documents. one 1 person outof 100 got rejected.

so dont worry be well prepared, you will get H1b.

I faced my interview one week back. Consulate asked me few questions regarding my education and how i got to know about the company then he issued me 221(g) green slip and asked me to bring it back when they call back. They kept my passport, original degree transcript , my service letters .. approval notice, letters from the US company .. etc.. all in originals.. They said they would get back to me but still i'm waiting for their call. In the green slip they have checked on other and has just mentioned "please bring when you come" ... Please let me know how should I proceed with this? It will be a BIG help if you all can share your ideas with me.. Thanks in advance !!

My interview was schedule at 1030 and documents were verified. I was sent to counter 2 at 11:15.

VO: how are you doing?
me: i'm doing good.
VO: hmm.. let see your documents
me: sure
VO: Where are you working now?
me: YYYY
VO: Are you gonnu working for YYYY ?
me: no, YYYY
VO: what you do at YYYY?
me: blah blah about project.
VO: you are good, issuing visa for you.
me: thank you :)

interview was very short, taken around 3 mins.
i think, VO pulls the info from system and conveys to us.
Be honest to VO because they have our history, geography and civics.

please avoid typo. i couldn't modify anything once i typed.

I have attended for H!B interview on in Feb...I have been put a administrative query and issued 221(g) Blue form.

Till now I have not mailed to consulate r I did't get any mail. Through one of my friend in US I got this mail ..can u please tell me what it means....till how much time it will take...

My parents applied for visitor visa for USA last year May, 2007 and got visa hold due to 221 (g) section. We have tried contacting the consulate many times but got no answer. We don't even know what are the documents they are looking for. I just wanted to know if anyone knows what to do, please let me know and secondly can they apply again now, as it's more than 1 year now. and i asked this question from the embassay and hasn't heard back anything.

Hi All,

I went to mumbai for H1 stamping in 18-Aug-08.
My interview time was 9.00 AM.
I reached there before 8. I availed the lounge facility and very much satisfied by the service.

They took us to consulate at 9:00.
By 9:30 I was inside and waiting for my turn.
They give pink slip (token) with number.
They call the token number from some counter and we have to present at that counter. You can also get snacks/ tea/coffee there.

Finally they called my token number at 11:45 AM.

Interview questions asked by officer.

1. I greeted him and he asked how r u doing ?
2. Through which company are u going?
3. Why do u want to go US ?
4. Who is the client ?
5. Where will you work in US?
6. Who is your current employer ?
7. How long have u been working with your current employer ?
8. What your job there ?

And then I heard the golden words "Your Visa is issued".

Within 24 hrs I got my passport at my permanent address.

Be prepared for the interview and take all the documents sent by your company.

        Few Days before I had an Interview at Counsulate Chennai.When I went there.

VO : Hi good Morning
Me :Fine ,How about you Sir.

VO : What is you Highest Degree ?
Me :B.Tech

VO :What is the Exp that you have ?
Me : 4 Years

VO :Can I see you Degree Certificate?
Me :Yes Sure

VO :When Did you get married ?
Me : around 5 months

VO : Do you have any Picture of your Marriage?
Me :YEs, I have an entire album

VO : Open the Album at the Middle and Flip few pages

VO :How many people are working with you there in US company ?
Me :around 100

Vo : How long had you been with the present XYZ company? Explain your Roles?
Me : Explained.

VO : Can I see the Tax papers of the US company ?
Me : Yes sure showed all the Doc that was send to me by US company.

VO : Is this the Only Docs the US company had send?
Me : Yes, only this much

VO : Took a Blue form 221 g and told to get few more docs
Me : OK SIR :( Smiling.

Now I have few Questions that is for 221 g do i need to take my wife again with me as she was for H4 and do i need to pay any amount for 221 (g)the same.

I got my visa stamped in chennai consulate on 19th Aug 2008.
     Person in the entrance counter verified my visa applications DS156 and DS157.In DS157 i forgot to fill my full name in native language so he asked me to fill it.After getting my finger prints , he told me to go to next counter for visa interview.
    After seeing my application VO told me she will not handle fresh H1B visas and asked me to go to inside.
 I went inside the main building and I stood in the line for 10 minutes .Before me a lady got blue form and then VO called me

VO: How are You?
Me: I am doing good.Thanks.
VO: What is your qualification
ME: M.sc Information Technology.
VO: Give your Degree Certificate.
ME: i have taken certificate from my foler and gave to him.
VO: He asked me give your UG degree certificate.
ME: I gave to him.
VO: He checked both the documents and told me i have to verify these with my manager give me a minute.
VO: He went inside and came back entered some thing in his system and asked him about my project.
ME: I told him i am working for this client ZZZ-ZZZ.
VO: I want technical details about your project.
ME: I explained him about my project for 5 minutes.
VO: He told me your visa was granted. you will be getting your passport in few days.
ME: Thank you So Much.

I have gone through VFS site for the doc. required for H1B interview.

List is as follows:-
1.Passport, visa fee receipt issued by HDFC Bank and interview appointment letter.
2.For applicant applying with a blanket petition, a demand draft for Rs 23,000/- favouring “US Embassy, New Delhi” or “American Consulate General, Mumbai (or Chennai or Kolkata)” as applicable. DDs drawn on co-operative banks are not accepted.
 
3.The original Notice of Action (Form I-797).
4.Form I-129 (if Form I-797 is a blanket permit, copy of Form I-797 and I-129), and letter from employer that describes your proposed duties.
5.Letters verifying your employment history and specific work skills.
6.Original degree certificates along with mark sheets.
7.Relevant diplomas or certificates, e.g. computer certification.

Can anyone please let me know what does it mean by the below doc.

-What document do i need to carry for this poin ?
Is this talking about releiving/experience letter from the previous company or something else ?

-They haven't mentioned about Resume. Is resume required for the inteview ?
