H1B redirection from Delhi to Chennai.....
Hi everyone

I have been in London from the past 3 years and I have done M.S over there and been to London consulate for H1B, they have redirected me to india, and after that I booked my appointment in Delhi as I belonged to Chennai region, but many of my frns who belong to the same case , they got their visa stamped in delhi. but I was redirected again to chennai and asked wait for 3 months to attend the visa.

Now I need to goto chennai in the coming weeks, So will there be any prob or drawback because I have been redirected couple of times. Is there anything that I need to take care of.

Frnz please share your experiences and your advices.

thank you.

221G
Hi Ram,

I too got the 221G this month.
I was asked about my current employer, how many years with current employer and asked to show the Unemployment wage report which I dont have..but tried to give him some other documents which my employer provided me..VO asked me to give him the folder I have..and he said that I dont have the document and given 221G with all ticks in the blue form....
My doubt is whether I need to once again attend to the Embassy or drop all the documents mentioned in the 221G form...b'coz VO did'nt tell me to drop the documents...
Please advise...Thanks in advice

Regards,
Ravi

Successfull stamping on 22nd Feb
After long wait and lots of anxious moments I got the H1 and H4 stamping done for myself and also for wife and kid.

Mine date was on 22 nd Feb.

Reached Chennai on 21st Feb just to relax.

On 22nd went to Embassy at 10:15 I had appt at 11:00. Since I have 10 months old baby with me, I was allowed in. After initial check by security guy, there was another counter for finger printing and docs verification.

I had possibly all the papers one may need and this gave me lots of confidence.

Then we went to another building for interview.

Since I had my baby with me, guy out here asked me to stand at the begining of queue.

I was standing in line of one black lady who was grilling the guy like anything. So I asked attendant that its taking time here and my baby is crying Can I move to another queue. Then he moved to another queue where one middle aged white lady was taking interview.

I stood there for almost 10 mins. Everybody that point of time was getting pink 221(g). That made me nervous, but still I was confident, since I already had B1/B2 stamped and I work for best software company in the world.

When my turn came I greeted the lady and we exchanged pleasantries.

She asked for blue file I passed on the file

VO: so you're working for YYYY Company
ME: yes
VO: Since how long you are woring with them
ME: 3 years
VO: What do you do in you current company
ME: Bla bla, all big gyan but with confidence.
VO: nice, what you'll be doing in US
ME: again Bla bla and lots of gyan

Then came the magical words.

VO: Have a nice stay in US

NOTE
====
I saw many post saying wear formals, take you current comany id all these things. But trust me guys nothing like that is required.

I was wearing jeans and T-Shirt.

Only thing that matters is how nicely you can talk and impress them in two minutes.

There is no subsitute for confidence.

All top of all these things please do visit Chilkur Balaji.

About Recession in US
Hi All,
I have one concern to share with the members of this group. Everybody is speaking more about US recession. If anybody who already in US with H1B reply about how job markets are actually there.

First of all Congratulations for your H1.
It seems like you received email within a weeks time, after submitting documents. Ive read 221g experiences were people are waiting for more than a month to receive response from Consulate.
What documents did you submit ?
