Indian Passport Renewal New York Consulate
Hello guys,
I am trying to renew my wife's passport at the Indian embassy in New York. There is a change in given name and surname due to marriage and also change in Indian address in her passport application. I wanted to check if any of you guys have recently renewed your passport at New York consulate, if so how long does it take?
Below is my timeline:
Apr 4 - Application sent to VFS
Apr 5 - VFS status says "Application received and in process to be sent to the embassy at NY"
Apr 6 - Indian passport gov site shows status as "Passport application along with fee details have been received. The same is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate."
Since then there has been no change in status.
I also tried to follow the granular details by checking on develepor tools but the statusMap array is empty and has no change since the application was received by the embassy.
Any of you guys have any recent similar experience and got your renewed passports, please kindly share your experience. How long do I need to wait in order to get the renewed passport?
