Newark NJ GC experience
I been a silent reader for 2 years and 9 months!! That how long my journey has been. I’m sharing my experience to help shine some light and give hope to people out there. I know how frustrating it can be and sometime even lose hope. It’s always good to hear someone else experience.

Newark NJ office filer with USC wife

USCIS received my Applications for I 130, I 131, I 765 , I 485 on October 11 2017! I did everything with a lawyer. I received my receipts about 3 weeks later then 2 weeks after then I received my fingerprint appointment. I got it done December 2017. After I received my EAD and AP card on February 2018. I didn’t hear nothing till July 2018 for a interview for August 2018. My wife and I were very perpared with a lot of evidence and we were not worried at all. We have a real marriage and have nothing to hide so we didn’t care what the interview came with.Plus we also had a daughter. We went to the interview it took us like 15 min. She asked a few normal question like what our name and DOB are.She asked us for our Driver licenses, my passport and our Daugther Original DOB and my medical exam. She didn’t ask us nothing about our relationship at all. At the end she give me a paper to sign. And said thank you, you will hear from us in 120 days. We left and we were very positive about everything and thought I will get approved in a month. But that was not the case! I still had a long way to go. After the interview I didn’t hear nothing till August 2019 a year later. You can imagine how frustrated and sad I got in times the waiting is the worst part about this whole process. I had to renew my EAD and AP card got approved the second time as well. For the record I have never traveled anywhere with my AP card was advised not to by my lawyer. So August 2019 came and I received a notice for a second interview with no explanation why! At this moment We got worried and thought why?I hope they don’t think we have a fake marriage. During the whole year as we were waiting we had a second child and got a house, had everything on point. So we stoped thinking and said we have nothing to hide we will answer whatever they want. Our interview was on september 2019. She was very straight forward and said we do not suspect your relationship is fake. She went straight to the point why we have a second interview what’s the problem with my case. She asked me for my sons DOB and said I need to do a I 601 waiver. My problem was when I applied I had DACA before I got married with my wife. Long story short my GED that I apply with my DACA was fake. I got spammed and didn’t even know it. Even though It wasnt my fault I still had to do a I 601 waiver. I used this diploma even to go to college and appled with no problem I never thought twice about it. I was very scared and confused, I was lost and sad after the interview. I had no thoughts or words to say! I didn’t know what a I 601 waiver was till I looked it up. After I knew I was terrified. I can lose my family and get deported. 2 weeks later I received the notice that I had to do I 601 waiver with a deadline of December 2019. USCIS received the I 601 waiver December 2019. This form took a part of me thats how hard , stressful and expensive it was. Those two months , I can say were the worst in my life! After, I didn’t hear nothing till March 2020 I got a notice that my Application for I 601 waiver was approved!!! We were so happy. The thought of just knowing I can’t get deported was a big stress relief. In April 2020 I received a notice that I have to redo my medical exam with deadline of June 2020. Obviously, I got it done asap I got the notice on Thursday I did my exam on Monday send it out on Thursday exactly a week apart. 2 weeks later I received I 485 letter, my green card was approved ! Today I got my green card ! Finally ! Stay positive and remember that there's a light at the end of every tunnel.
