Just received the Green Card with incorrect spelling of the first name.
1) Could I enclose a copy of my drivers license as proof of correct spelling ?
2) Also could I mail the I-90 application ?
3) If so, should I mail it to the California Service Center ? I currently live near Washington, DC. I got my Green Card mailed out by the California Service Center.
4) Should I inform INS of any change of address, now that I have a green card ?
Thanks

I think better show passport
2) Also could I mail the I-90 application ?
I don't know but would guess that no.

You should use a service center where you live.
4) Should I inform INS of any change of address, now that I have a green card ?
Yes. You have to within 10 days or so.
Hi,
I had the same problem on my GC when I received it. Since then I have got my new card after applying with a I-90. I applied with an I-90 on Nov 15 '01 and got my new card on Jan 12 '02 (my old and new cards were/are from CSC)
I have replied to your questions below:
1) Could I enclose a copy of my drivers license as proof of correct spelling ?
No - you need a copy of your Birth Certificate (or a copy of non-availability + affidavit + School Leaving Cert). The IIO at the San Jose INS office said that's all I needed to give though I had taken a copy of my passport - she refused to take a copy of my passport.
2) Also could I mail the I-90 application ?
I had spoken to an IIO from CSC and he said that I should go to the nearest INS office though my lawyer said that I could mail it.
3) If so, should I mail it to the California Service Center ? I currently live near Washington, DC. I got my Green Card mailed out by the California Service Center.
Going in person to an INS office would be a better option
4) Should I inform INS of any change of address, now that I have a green card ?
Yes - they need to know your new address.
You do not have to pay the $110 fee as it is an INS error. You have to submit your old card.
Hope this helps.
