Whose responsility is to fill the form I-9, employer/employee??

INS web site says--- employer. Do we really care about this if employer fails to do so?

Any comments?

1. It can be one more proof you joined your sponsor (keep a copy of completed I9).
2. In case of INS audit of your company, no hassles for you.

It is the employer's responsibility. They can get fined during an audit if they don't have current I-9s on file for each employee (not that an audit is very likely to happen).
Every employer is supposed to know this. If they don't, I would be very suspicious about everything the employer does. If they don't know the basic things, what else are they going to miss? Do they pay their taxes, especially the payroll taxes? Otherwise, you could end up in trouble.

I agree to both of you.
I am suspicious about my employer as he didnt ask for any document(copy of passport, A# etc.) from me after completing green card thru CP, nor attorney gave any guidlines what to do after GC. To me it appears that I am still working for him as an employee on H1b visa. Professionalism shown by desi consulting co is not highly appreciated.

Even though it is employer's responsibility, many overlook that. But that does not mean everything they would be suspicious in that case.
