For PR - make sense to do that when you get citizenship.

Why after citizenship ? Is it not possible to start the process while we ourself are PRs and not citizens ? How long does it take once we file for it ?

A permanent resident(green card holder) can not sponser his/her parents. You have to be citizen to sponsor your parets. A permanent resident can sponsor spouse and unmarried children more than 21. Check with an attorney to be 100% sure.

in US, you can sponsor parents, brother/sister etc. only if you are a citizen. Only family members (spouse, children) can be sponsored if you're a PR. (yeah, in US, parents are not your family members!!)
in Canada though, you can do this even if you're a PR.

Guys, please do not waster time thinking about including parents as dependants while doing CP or of sponsoring them after getting GC until you get your citizenship. It is simply impossible under current immigration laws. (If it were possible, I myself would have already done that!)
