I entered through Newark airport after attending my CP interview at Chennai . Does anybody know how long it takes to get the card ? And also where will be card be mailed? One my CP friend told me that the card will be mailed to employer , not to individual or attorney.
I received my card yesterday(05/02) through my
employer. They also forwarded my wife's and daughter's as well.
POE: Newark
Entered on 02/14.
INS mailed them on 04/27.

Hello m99,
I don't why tge GC has been mailing to your employer?
Where I can find out the GC will be mailing to my home mailing address or employer?
Thanks,
Hope2001
The card will be mailed to whatever address you gave in OF230, to the consular officer, or at the POE to the immigration officer.

In form I230 Part II, both permanent address of the beneficiary(ies) and address of employer are required to be filled out. So to which address, INS will mail the plastic cards?
The card is sent to the address entered as "Permanent Address in the US" on the OF230 Part 2.
The employer name and address are a different field, and that field is not used to send the card.

I was in India when I got my immigrant visa. In the box (in OF 230 Part II) titled Permanent address in the US, I filled my Indian address. In the immigrant visa issued, the US Embassy put my employer address. At the POE, the officer showed me the address on the immigrant visa and told me that my Green Card is going to be shipped to that address (which is employer's address).

Well, this of course has to be a *US* address. The card is not sent outside the US.
That's why the consulate put the employer's address on the visa. You can have that
changed at the POE, or you can send a change of address form to INS (unfortunately,
they tend to ignore these forms).

m99,
Could you tell us which address you mentioned in "Permanent address in the US" column of OF 230 Part II.
Thanks
dpvaddi,
I put my home address there,
and employer's address in different section.
My colleague who also entered through Newark
got her card dilivered her home.
My guess is that it's upto the immigration
officer at POE who handles your papers.
So you might want to make sure with her at
the time of GC stamp.
