Any CPers who entered thru' SFO/LA....

I entered SFO back in Nov. after CP in Mumbai. I haven't got my plastic card yet. I called up both Texas and CSC and they can't find my A# in the system. Is there anyone else in the same boat? Kindly post your dates of entry and port of entry and any other information you might have.

Looks like people who had the misfortune of entering thro' California, have to wait the longest till they get their Plastic. (6-8 months). I entered thro' LA in Nov end. I am not expecting the plastic till maybe May 2001. After that i'll start getting alarmed. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

Entered SFO Jan 21, 01. If guys have not got it, I can just forget about it.

Question - I know we must have plastic card finally, does it put any restriction on changing job. I think I-551 stamp on the passport is as good as a plastic card for the purpose of employement change ?

You do not need to show your stamp. SSC without any restriction and driver licence is good enough. It is in the INS guideline issued to the employer.

I know someone POE Oct.00 at LA, have received the plastic cards. I am still waiting for mine, my POE is Nov.00 at LA.

Intersting thing is I also called both Texas and California Serive Center, but my A number is in neither of their computer system. More interstingly, the lady who answered my phone from CSC told me that they don't process any plastic cards case which are sent from the airports, the TSC does. I know, through various sources, that the plastic cards are made by the California Service Center for those who POE through California airports.

But how can we get hold of the RIGHT INS OFFICE/PERSON, to find out the exact status of issuing the plastic cards? Can anyone provide any suggestion on this? Thanks.

I finally managed to speak to an officer at CSC. She said that CSC is running 9 months behind for plastic cards. I enterd SFO in Nov, but my papers reached them sometime in Feb as they batch papers together and send (or whatever crap!)
She said it will take another 4-5 months before i get my card. Even a SRC no. was not assigned till now.

She also said that in case the stamp expires before the cards come in we can go the SFO District Office and get them revalidated.

How could they find that your papers reached them in Feb?? Do they have info about your A# in their computer system??
