Can anyone tell me if I can still travel home for xmas, my I94 is valid until June of 07 but my visa expires in 2005. I am in the process of renewing my visa but won't have any answer until the new year. Will i have any problems coming back to the states or is it best to stay here until my visa is renewed?

Hey, even if your I-94 is valid, if you go out of country, you need to have a valid visa to enter back again. So if you are going out of US, you need to get your visa stamped before you enter US. I have the same problem now.. but looks like in India the visa slots are going crazy. But as we go from US, we can go to any consulate. hope this helped

Just to share something -- If you are working in USA, I think, you are eligible for "Emergency Appointment" also.
Not sure if this is true for all consulates in India.
