USC marrying J1 holder

Thanks for the info. Please bear with me, I have another question. I read on a website that my girlfriend (J1 holder) will have trouble with AOS after we marry if we were together before she got her J1 visa. Is this true? Or do they not know what they are talking about?

Only problem is that if she was subject to 2 year home residency requirements while on J1 and if she has not satisfied that, she won't able to adjust status unless she is able to obtain the waiver.

(home residencey requirements means going back to home country and staying there. )
