When I got my citizenship nine years ago, I changed my name. It sucked and I never used it. :( I never told anybody about the name. How do I get INS to change it to my Birth name? Thanks!
When you changed your name, if became your official name. INS or CIS has no longer anything to do with it.
To change your name now, you need to go to your local court. There is a formal procedure that you have to follow, and that is done at the local court.

will the court ask for my citizenship papers or will they be able to look up my information and modify it through the computer or something? i seem to have misplaced mine :(
also, since my SS card, driver's lincense and every other documents is under my old and corret name, it wouldn't exactly be an "official" name change, so I shouldn't need to go through the court process should i? oh please tell me i don't have to go through this process just to change the name on my citizenship papers.

i am a legal resident here in the usa. i now qualify to apply for naruralization, but there was a really nice question there (on the naruralization application): do you want to change your name? i do! i don't like my name. i would like to change my name, but do you just change your name there and that's it? i have been living here in the usa for like eight years and i think i would need to go to all these diff places to change my name is case i decide to change my name on the naruralization application. ok, so i change my name there, but what other places would i need to go to "completely" change my name?

Changing a name in the citizenship application is not recommended. It just delays the application process.
If you do in citizenship application, that's not it. You will still have to change your name everywhere yourself.
