Hi, i have had a difficult time finding any info on this. It may ultimatly just be a dumb question.

I have a valid r1 visa which allows 3-5 years of stay in the us. I would like to marry my girlfriend and remain on my visa to finish my work and then take her back with me to the UK at the end of it all.

Is this allowed? Would i have to go home and return on a K-1 visa? I have not been able to find any information on all of this and any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

K1 visa is a fiance visa for people who come to US to get married to a US citizen and eventually wish to become permanent residents in the US. SInce this is not your plan,
you do not have to do anything. Getting married to a US citizen(I am assuming your spouse is one) will not affect your r1 visa.Just leave with your spouse when your r1 visa is over.
