Self-sponsorship Green Card Expenses Tax Deductible?

Hello All,

My first question here. I am self-sponsoring myself for a green-card through an advanced-knowledge EB1/EB2 category. I am spending around $8000 for these green-card expenses. I am doing it alone, my company is not paying for it (they are only helping in documentation). Can I deduct these expenses? This is for FY2005
