Thank you ARS I was waiting for a reply becoz U know its frastating But any way What do u think its time to call USCIS .Our case is only 2 months old. The most heart breaking thing is the last updation in Texas service center does not have I-129F updation. They have skipped I-129F. So we both are in a state that we don't know what to do. So we will be contacting USCIS customer service number. Lets hope every thing goes Ok and fast.

Thank you once againg will be waiting for your reply.

Although I live in Texas my I129F was sent to the California service center for processing. UCIS indicated they were balancing the work load between service centers. My receit date was March 1. The UCIS has now notified me that my case was approved as of May 2.

Thank you for your reply. I really want to know how does it happend. When u said that your receipt date was March 1st and you have got an approval on May 2nd ,did u mean u recieve some thing like a phone call or letter ? Coz we've tracking our application status allmost like every day but there is no change in dates. There is another thing . You said u've recieved approval on May 2nd but as on May '05 2006 I can see on california Service Center the processing date for I-129F is Fab'03 2006.But your application reciept date was March 1st. Plz my friend I need to know this thing on details. I hope u understand how hard it is to stay million of miles away from the person u love.

& plz tell me what happend after u get your approval ? Did ur fiance(e) reciece some thing ? Whats her status ? Has she gone through the Counsellor Interview ? I would love to discuss it with you in a little details. My no. is 6156563318 Kunal.

Kunal, you are correct. The Texas Service Center has not posted I129F dates. Before my case was sent to California I called the UCIS and asked why but they had no answer. The best you can do is look at the California dates, the two service centers are fairly close in timing. I had signed up for email notification. I received a notice from the UCIS via email. I then also checked my case status online and it confirmed that my case was approved. They said my written notice has also been mailed. I expect I'll get it today or tomorrow. You are also correct in that if you check the sataus of cases with the California Service center, it was last updated April 21 and shows that they are processing receipt dates as of Feb 3rd. The next UCIS update will occur on May 8 it will be interesting to see what processing dates they show. There is another possible explanation for my expededited processing but I've taken up too much time here so I'll call and share it with you.

When u send your k1 application to USCIS, it usually takes a month or 2 before you can get NOA1(notice of action:stating your application is approved and you application is being forwarded to NVC while a special case number will be designated for you. You need to wait another 2-3 months for this number. When NVC has found a number for you, they will then send you another letter(NOA 2) stating that your papers are now forwarded to the US embassy where you are currently residing. When your papers arrived at the embassy, you need to wait another 2 weeks to sort them out. Then, the embassy will send you your packet. It contains forms that you need to fill out, medical forms, and requirements that you need to meet.

Thanks for your reply. I have couple of Q? in my mind which requires your attention.

1. I've got my 1st NOA (Approval of my I-129F by USCIS) on may 9th. What do u think how many days it will take NVC to process the background check ?

2. What will be the overall duration after this NOA till I get my consolate interview call ?

3. According to you after my 1st NOA USCIS will send our application to NVC where a new case no. will be assigned to our application. My Q ? is will NVC give us the new tracking no. after they process our application or before processing ?

4. how many days it is gonna take after NVC process our application and send it to my home country for my interview ?

To answer your questions Kunal:

1. When you get your NOA1, wait for 2-3 months for the NVC to get a specific number for your case. Once they have a number for you they will immediately send you your NOA2 stating that you have your NVC number and that your papers will be sent to the US Embassy on your area. It usually takes 1- 2 weeks to get to your country. Once it reach the embassy, they will go over your papers and send you your packet. Again you have to wait for another week or 2 for them to send it to you.

2. If I were you, gather already the requirements that will be needed for the interview like police clearance for the last five years were you resided, proofs of relationship, affidavit of support from your fiancee, and divorce decree if you or your fiancee were previously married

3. Your interview at the embassy depends how fast you can gather the requirements that are asked from you from the packet that they would give you. And of course, the medical(physical exam) that you need to go through. When you are done to all of these, then you can now set an appointment to your embassy. All the instructions will be on your packet.

Hi friends

I've got an e-mail from NVC stating that my aoolication has been approved by them & with in 7 days they will send it to Mumbai American consolate.

Q 1. I live in Kolkata & we have an American consolate in here then why they have mentioned the address of Mimbai which is in a different state & 1 of 4 metro cities in India ?

Q 2.That for ARS & for those who has gone through the consolar interview .

Packet-3 !! what does it contain. What sort of forms & documents will be there ?

Q 3. After I get my documents ready as per the packate -3 instructions & quite ready for scheduling an interview , is it on my hand to fix an appointment with the consolate coz my fiance(e) is planning to come an appear for that interview with me.

Thanks friend .

Kunal, please go to this web site. It is very informative and will tell you everything you need to know about the process. http://chennai.usconsulate.gov/fiance/fiancee_visas.html#k1

For other folks that are interested you will also be able to find official explanations of what administrative processing means and the latest official US policy/procedure changes relavent to the embassy & consulates in India.

Procedures at consulates around the world are somwhat standardized but they are a little different. You will need to find the web site for the US consulate in your country.
