My girlfriend was deported after 5 years of detention while fighting a charge involving legal issues to which she pleaded no contest which is viewed as guilty.
She has been outside of the US for over 1 year. Can someone tell me what she would need to do to start the process of entering the US.
Our intention is to get married. I am a citizen and have been trying to get information from the embassy where she is living to no avail and it seems the more I try to get answers from INS, homeland security or other agencys the less information they provide. This has been a very frustrating process and I am just getting started. I have looked at forms I-601 but I am not sure that is where we should start.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
