L1 Approval Notice with different Counsulate---Very Urgent.

Hi Frnds,

I have got my L1 Individual approved notice with Mumbai Counsulate . Earlier I had an appointment with chennai counsulate for L1 B where they had asked to take a approval from USCIS and I can come for interview to chennai counsulate. When my employer applied and got approved now the notice states the counsulate is Mumbai in the approval notice. My employer is telling me that they will give one letter for the same. Can you please let me know will it be fine if I take a letter from employer that it shld be Chennai and go to Chennai Counsulate. I am planning to go for Visa Interview on tuesday.

Can you please let me know ASAP as I am in need to go for stamping and fly very urgently.

WHere is your current residence/employment? Bombay or Chennai? Is your case on Sec 221(g) hold at Chennai US consulate? If you and your L1 Indian company are in Chennai ( or south India), then its enough if you take a letter from the employer in the US that your stamping consulate has been wrongly mentioned as "Mumbai" in the I 797. This should not be a problem for stamping L1 provided all other details are intact.
