Hi

My In-laws came last Friday, 05/12/2006 from India to San Francisco on visitor visa.

At the counter the officer asked my in-laws about the period of stay and they confirmed that they want to stay for 6 months. But when I saw the date on the I-94 card, my Father-in-law had six months, while my mother-in-law had only 3 months.

What is the best course of action in these cicumstances? Can I apply for my mother-in-law visa extension. If so when should I apply.

Thanks

You should apply for an extension asap since it takes 2 months to process these days.

You can file for extension just 45 days before expiry of your current visa.
Too early extension filing application will be rejected and sent back.
