I have a question about signing the citizenship application.

My name on the greencard [and all the other immigration/visa documents] is written as "Firstname M Lastname" but usually I sign with my middle name expanded followed by my first and last initials[MiddlenameFL]. This is how I sign/signed on all the legal/visa/immigration documents including my Indian passport, driver's license, green card etc without any problems/questions whatsoever. But the citizenship application instruction says that I have to sign exactly as my name is written. Now should I sign as "Firstname Lastname" or my traditional way?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

This is actually a good question with no easy answers....

First they want you to write your name (no, not sign your name) of your N400 form after your interview. It has to be legible so that others unknown to you can make out. This is something that you will be able to reproduce. But the this is not your signature, and this will appear on your Naturalization certificate.

When I signed my passport application with my standard original signature which looks quite different from what I had on the certificate the agent at the Post Office made me change it back. Wonder when, if at all, I will be able to change it to my signature
