URGENT-can not prepone appointment at vfs site

Hi,

I have filled up my L-1 visa application in vfs site and saved the application but have not booked any appointment. I have also added my wife's L-2 application in my application itself (as another applicant).
Now when I see some earlier date at vfs site (by checking the available date), at the same time, I log into my application and try to book that date, but I do not see that date :(
If I check the available date again, I can still see this. But inside my application I can not see the same earlier date?

What does this mean? (Is it because appointment for 2 persons are not available at that earlier date and hence I cant see it? OR as this is my already created and saved application, I can not get earlier dates?)

How can I solve this? (I heard that I should not attempt to take 2 different appointments for me and my wife as it might create problems. But after having 1 application for both of us, I am not able to get earlier date..) What shall I do?
I'll deeply appreciate any prompt help/experience-sharing.

NEW RULE BY VFS

You cannot prepone your visa appoinment without first cancelling your previous appointment. This has been in effect from feb 25, 2006

You can actually advance or modify the date of the appointment once. Sometimes, as you say, though the date is available, you might not actually be able to take it, may be it not available for you. Only after you have exhausted this attempt, you might not be able to advance the appointment without first cancelling it.

i got wat u r saying..
do u know this -

1. if i see available date in availablity window (outside my application), i go inside my application n try to book that date (as part of new application) and i have 2 applications in it (me n my wife)...i do not see that date.... but if i check it again in availablity window, its there.... does this mean that the date is not available for 2 people??

2. to resolve this... is it advisable to separate my application and my wife's application n book 2 appointments as this way, v might get 2 earlier dates (but ofcourse 2 separate dates)...?

I do not recommend this.
Better wait..., if you cannot wait and if you more earlier dates are available then you can take the risk of canceling the existing appointment and take new one with earlier date. (I do not advice this too)
As per VFS advancing appointment is allowed by canceling current one and creating new one.

I agree the VFS site is a bit wierd.
I did cancel my previous appointment and tried to get some earlier date.
It does display earlier dates though open application link but does not display the date when I go through my application.

I did send them emails as to why this is happening and how can I get the earlier Appointment, but havent heard ...

Guys Does anyone know some way of getting through this.....
