We(self and wife) have been invited for Oath ceremony in two weeks. There s very little documentation that went with the invite. SOme immediate questions

1. Have 2 kids under age 5. Can they tag along with us? I read somwhere that family members can accompany but are seated separately. Obviously that will not be something that we can do.

2. My wife is changing her last name. No mention of this in the invite. Is that a separate appoitment we ask for?

3. If we surrender our GC, can we apply for passports right away? I belive we can

4. How long is the ceremony? What is the format?

Thx

1. They can all seat together.
2. Change of name is done through the court proceedings.
3. You can apply for passport as soon as you get your naturalization certificate, which is right after the oath.
4. Less than 1 hour. First you sing a song, go through the actual oath wording and then message on TV from Bush.

Thx Immihelp - I think I did not articulate myself well. There will be just 4 of us- Me, wife and two kids. can they stay with us during the oath ceremony? They cannot sit in a separate area by themselves.

Hope this made sense now
