B1 visa- 1st visit outside India

Hi,

I have my B1 visa interview scheduled in chennai on 8 th aug...this is my first visa interview and also would be my first travel out of india....Can anyone give me some tips please? Is it that getting a visa is easier if you have previously travelled to the US/ other countries?

To give some tips , we need more information; purpose of visit, your age,
married or single, occupation, and income. I think it is too late for that
since it is aug7 already and you have the interview tomorrow.

Broadly, the consulars have two major concerns; that the applicant
will return to India and that he/she can afford the trip.
These two issues are determined through questions like
the purpose of your visit, your income in India, the nature of your
job and your family ties in India.

Several factors are weighed together when granting a decision.
If the purpose of visit is straightforward like an important business trip
and your ties to India are clear cut like a permanent job ; they may not
look at your previous travel history.
