B2 - Query related to funds

Hi,

I need to sponsor my parents on B2 Visa , and i landed here in June of this year itself. Can anybody pls help me suggest the minimum balance i need to have/show, so that i can call them here?
Are there any predefined minimum limits to the amount one needs to show?

You have not mentioned your visa status in US.
Anyway, keep this points in mind;

1. Inviting them so soon is not advised. It only shows to the consular that they are desperate to go to US and may possibly settle there, so will be denied. You should wait at least a year before inviting them.

2. Usually a salary of $40k/annum and above is fine for sponsorship.

3. If they can afford the trip, they should show self financing rather
than your sponsorship. THis will go in their favour.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. As for me, so I am on L1 status and since I am due in Jan 2007, so i need to call them so soon.

I qualify from the salary viewpoint but I am now wondering whether they would really get the visa...
