Hello,
I'd like to extend the visitor visa for my parents, who are scheduled to leave next month. I have been told it is lot riskier to apply for an visitor visa extension these days - is this true?
Also

1) What documents are needed apart from the I-539 form?
2) How long does it take for the processing?
3) Any recent experience you can share? esp. any rejections.

Please share ASAP.
thanks!
Marc

There is no way to come to such conclusions. It is different for everyone.

Thanks Immihelp...How bout if we apply for the extension of visitor's visa, and if my parents leave before the accept/denial (i.e. as scheduled). In this case if there is rejection would it still nullify the 10 yr multiple entry? or would it not since the applicants have left within their original I-94 time period.
Please let me know at the earliest
Thanks!

It wouldn't void visa in this case.

Does the original I-94 need to be sent with the I-539 extension application. The form says so, but the info on this website says;
"Even though the form says you must send original I-94, you must also send the photocopy of I-94 form. Do NOT send the original. You are not required to send the original. If you sent the original by mistake, and if you need it back, you can file form G-884 with USCIS. G-884 is not available on. You have to request it by mail."

Bit confusing since, it then emphasises to not send the original. Should the original be sent??
thanks again!

No, don't send the original.
