View Full Version : Schedule A Visas
Hello ,
I am a nurse and I recently had my CP for Green card. But after reaching the embassy I was told that there are no visa numbers, hence the interveiw is cancelled. Any idea if the schedule A visa numbers for nurses is depleted? IF so whats happens next?

Hello GC7,
Schedule A already retrogressed and become unavailable this category soon, unless the US congress has pass the bill to issue more visa in this category. Now the election over, high likelihood that bills will be passed into laws in November 2006 and if not then in March or the latest is hopefully May, 2007.
Dear GC7, what is your consulate? Mine Chennai consulate and paid my visa fee & waiting for my Instructions Package. Could you please help me regards to Police Clearance Certificate?
1. Does there is any specific form in Instructions Package for PCC?.
2. And right now I am working in Saudi Arabia (more than 05 years). From where all I need to get PCC ?
God bless you
Thanks for the information. Well I do hope the visa;s get released soon.
For the PCC you need to approach the police station in the area where u live. Well according to the instructions I have received I was asked to get PCC right from the age 16 years, from all the cities I have lived in. It is hercules task and I am not sure if it is the right procedure. Well even i am unaware what the exact procedure is? So i am not in the exact position to give u the instructions.
If u get any information regarding this matter, then do let me know.

Dear GC7,
December visa bulletin already out. Schedule A unavailable
http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/visa-bulletin.jsp
Hello ,
very sad there are no visas available under schedule A . Its rather a unfortunate situation. anyways hope for the best.
Regarding the PCC, I shall give some tips which I followed, but I am not sure if I am absolutely right about getting the PCC, Unless I finish the counsal interveiw. Well I have got the package 3 , but there have been no clear instructions, I had to handle it on my own.
In Saudi, the PCC is as follows,
1) take the NVC letter , which shows the visa approval and go to the nearest US embassy. They shall draft another letter and give it to you . Go along with photographs, of all the applicants.
2) take that letter and get it attested with the chamber of commerce.
3) approach the main police station and they shall direct with the other process of finger printing and shall issue a pcc within a week.
This is from the local police.
Next you need to go to the Indian embassy, and they have a miscelaneous form. Fill it for each applicant , with photographs and some amount ( not sure how much) . If the passport is released in Saudi, u shall get the PCC with in a week , or else if it is issued in India , then it takes 45 days.
I have lived in multiple cities in India and I personally went to each city and got the PCC done.( I am not sure if this is needed, I may be wrong, but I wanted to be on the safer side). My advise is dont start doing u r PCC until u get the appointment letter from the embassy. Normally we get the letter 2 months prior to the appoinment.
Another sincere advise, dont resign or do anything before going for the interveiw. Do everything after the interveiw. Just dont take any major step before the interveiw.Like my case, anything can happen.
I have provided the above information as per experience. Please , I myself dont know what is the right procedure. I hope you dont just rely on this , but find out from other sources and do it .
And I also wanted to know if ever you come across any imformation about the validity of the PCC , do let me know.

Thanks you very much.
Really it is very useful information for me. I appreciate it; ones again thank you very much.
Can I disturb you ones again? As you mention regards to the NVC letter which shows the visa approval. Is it I140 petition approved letter? or the one which included in Package-3 ?
God bless you
Hello GC007,
no its not the I140 approval letter, it after u submit the DS230, after that when u get the package 3 stating what all documents u need to keep ready, that is the letter. In package 3 u get a specific letter saying," instrucstions from NVC for visa processing at consulate". So thats the letter. Have you received that letter?

Hai GC7,:)
Thank you for your guidance. I didn’t receive my DS230; I just paid the my visa fee to NVC & waiting for DS230. Actually I thought DS230 included in Package 3.
With regards:) :)
Hello GC007,
oh then u need to wait for about 4 to 6 weeks, after the payment of the visa fees to get that package 3 from NVC. Only after you get that letter , you papers get transfered to the US consul for interveiw. So its a long wait. And now the interveiw letter also wont come soon from the US Consul, because of the unavailability of the numbers.

DEAR GCC
I HAD A AGENT IN INDIA AND HE SAYS MY I-140 IS APPROVED. HE HAS GIVEN ME THE RECEIPT NO ALSO AND I TRACKED THE SAME WITH USCIS WEBSITE AND IT SHOWS THAT IT IS APPROVED. NOW HE SAYS TO PAY VISA FEES FOR MY DEPENDENTS. HE HAS NOT GIVEN ME AND OFFICIAL RECEIPT AS HE SAYS THAT IT IS WITH THE ATTORNEY.
I ALSO CHECKED WITH MY AGENT ABT I-485 AND THEY SAY IT IS FILED WITH I-140. MY CASE IS WITH NVC AND I HAD BEEN GIVEN VISA NO FROM MY AGENT, BUT THERE ARE NO OFFICIAL DOCUMENTS FROM NVC.
PL ADVICE ME WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS NVC GIVES WHEN THEY APPROVE I-485 ? WHEN THEY ASK TO PAY THE VISA FEES FOR DEPENDENTS ? DO THEY SEND ANY LETTER TO PAY THE FEES ? ALSO HOW DO I KNOW THAT THE VISA NO GIVEN TO ME BELONGS TO ME ONLY ? ALSO MY AGENT HAS SEND ME DS-230. MY AGENT IS PAYING FOR ME SO SHOULD I PAY FOR MY DEPENDENT AT THIS STAGE ?
I WILL BE GRATEFULL FOR YR ADVICE.
