Our J1/J2 visa interview is on Friday (Nov. 24)... and today is Wednesday (Nov. 22) early morning here in India. We will be leaving by train for Mumbai at 10:00 tonight.

My husband just discovered a mistake made in filling up the DS156 Form which we submitted 8 days back at the VFS office. It is in the place of issuance of passport, 1st page.

I am worried because I have made the mistake. Will it affect our interview? Will it be the cause for visa rejection? What can be done before we leave for Mumbai? We dont have much time.:(

Is there anybody there who can tell us what we can do?

I went through the info you directed me to on Visa Appointment with VFS(http://www.immihelp.com/visas/vfs-online-appointment-usa-visa.html). It's there... the answer to my question is just there under Modification of Submitted Forms. Hope we wont have problems with the error during the interview. Thank you for a quick reply.

God bless!

The interview took almost an hour for us... as our case was not the usual (that was what we were told). But eventually we were granted visa. Praise God!

I realized that there are 2 important things that an applicant for a J1/J2 US visa has to keep in mind during the interview... be honest and be convincing. You must know what you want, what you are applying for, what you are going to do, and how it can help you and your job/country.

I don't think consular officers will refuse applicants for J1/J2 visa that easily.
