Hi,

I would like to know what is the processing time that it takes for getting the OCI. If any one has recently applied please share your experiences.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

In Chicago it's 2 months after they receive the application.
It's worth to mention that in case both parent of child are Indian citizen, then don't try for OCI card. In this case child is not elligible for OCI card. You will have to go with PIO card. OCI rules are changed now, but unfortunately it's not updated in Indian embassy site.

Hi
could u please share the link where u found this updated information regarding OCI?
As i found the following link
http://www.immihelp.com/nri/overseascitizenshipindia/application.html

where it is clearly stated that those whose parents r of indian origin are eligible to apply for OCI. Do u say this is an outdated information? If so I would like to know the link to your point.

Thanks in advance

Information in that link is up to date.

That link nowhere says that if both parents are Indian citizens, US born children are eligible for OCI. It says that such kids are NOT eligible.

Could you please point out where does it say that?
