Today I was supposed to travel to Bangkok from Hyderabad. The immigration dept did not allow me to travel citing the reason ECNR.

In my passport where its printed " Emigration Check Required except for Bangladesh, Pakistan....." is DELETED.

But there is another printed stamp which reads " Emigration Check REquired (ECR) Except for Bangladesh pakistan and all countries in europe (excluding common wealth of independent states (cis), North America, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, South Africa, Singapore and Thailand." I was cluless when the Imigration Officer refused me to board the Flight inspite of the clear stamp mentioning the country which I was supposed to visit "THAILAND".

For your info, in my previous passport which got expired there is a stamp "Emigration Clearance Not Required".

It is really a hard situation. You should try to explain them that you ECNR is not required for Thailand.

If they still do this, best thing is to get ECNR.
