Hi,

I have lost my valid Indian passport while I am on my trip to US. Currently iI am locatated in Tucson, AZ. I have applied for a duplicate passport from Indian consulate in San Francisco. My question is How do I get US Visa stamped on my duplicate passport once i get it back? I would require valid US visa stamped on my passport once I will travel back to India. My query is urgent and I am really worried, I do not know anyone here who can help me.

Please answer my question as soon as possible. Thank you

You can't get US visa stamped within US. You will have to go to US consulate in India and do the procedure all over again.

Thank you for the quick response. I have couple of questions, which are:

1. Indian Consulate told me to come to San Francisco in person and submit all the documents, what do you think how much they will take to give me the duplicate passport. I will have to leave the country by Febuary 11, 2007.

2. Will I have to submit all my documents and fees again in the US Embassy and give an Interview again in India?

Thank you so much for your help, I am not happy with what has happened to me but I guess I dont have any other option. I really appreciate the quick response I got from your side. Your website is a big help for Indians like me here, but I would really like to mention the behaviour of Indian Consulate, it was very rude and not helpful. I found Americans more lineant and helpful then our Indian brothers here in US. Thank you again for your support.
