My company lawyer says that it is not mandatory to have notarized employment letter. He says neither law nor consulate needs notarized letter. Is it true? Will not notarized employment letter work at interview?

thanks

Yes, you need notarized employment letter. Read carefully in Packet 4.

This topic has been discussed over and over and over again. "IT IS MANDATORY TO NOTARIZE" the empolyment letter. Maybe you lawyer wants to use you as a guiny pig with a non-notarized employment letter.

Pick what you want to do Believe you Lawyer or believe those who have walked before you with notarized employment letters.

Its your interview maybe your lawyer is correct, so try your luck and post your experience. We are all eager to know.

I fully agree with Xkuger's comments.

In a green card process which is so lengthy/frustrating, I would not want to take any chances.

Employment letter MUST be notarized for CP. There is no doubt about it. But even if I had even 0.0001% doubt whether it may be required to notarize or not, I would just take the pain of notarizing it. Why take even that tiny risk?
