Greencard sponsor's nature of business

Hi guys,

I would like to start my green card processing. However, I want to know if a friend of mine (the company's owner) can sponsor my GC in a situation where: his company is into ecommerce business while I am into software consulting.

Does it matter that my nature of work matches that of the company who is sponsoring me?
