I got permission to stay for months .Unfortunately my confirmed ticket back home is next day. That is I would have to overstay by13 Hrs.What should I do. If I were to change my travel plans not only I have to pay to the Airlines but I have to miss a very important family function on the last date of my visa.
Kindly advise.

simply apply for an extension for few days, and mention the family meeting as a reason...i don't find a reason for denying your extension.....it is completely bengin case. good luck

13 hour delay is reasonable and will not cause any problems.
This is precisely the reason why one should not book the tkts based on 6 months as it really is 180 days. And allow for a few days for emergencies.
In my personal opinion you dont need to apply for extension.
