I am currently in Canada on Work Permit & my wife as dependent. I will go back to India by mid 2008 and will stay there.

I am expecting my first baby in July 07.

I understand that I could get a Canadaian Passport & PIO for my baby to travel to india & stay with us.

If I choose to get a Indian passport for my baby, will the baby be able to get canadian citizenship later in time.

Please advise.

Right now just get the canadian passport and the PIO card. When your child is 18, he/she can decide whether they want to keep the canadian passport or switch to an indian passport.

Hi,

I am in the same situation. My son was born in US in Dec 05. I got his US passport and PIO card. Now we are back in India and staying here since Dec 06. I am also planning to get my son registered as a foreign person so that he would have no issues in staying more than 6 months here.

My question is, does anyone have any idea about the education and all for him? Like would i have to pay more fees at all stages just because he is a non-india citizen? Are there any issues in admissions to various colleges etc?

If anyone has their kids as non-india citizens or know something about it, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ambarish
