Emergency travel - please help

Hi: We have to travel to India on an emergency due to my mothers illhealth.
We have a four month old baby whose passport application is still pending. My questions are:

Is it possible to expedite the passport so that it is issued in a day?
How to get an emergency visa to India since my daughter needs one. We leave in Atlanta and we have to go to Houston

Any insight and info is helpful. Thanks in advance

If you are talking about American Passport, Yes, you can get it in a day by paying a premium and requesting for expedited service. I am not sure about the details, but there are agencies that help with expedited passport...try to google.

Otherwise, you can contact Indian embassy...they can help you with getting emergency travel documents.

Call the passport agency and tell them your travel date. If your travel date is in next 14 days, they will setup an appointment for you to go to the nearest agency and you will get your passport within 2-3 hours. Make sure to go to the agency with your baby.
