  • Photographs for 485/AP/EAD

My question might sound weird but would be glad if someone can answer.

I got digital passport pictures from a pharmacy store...the pictures arent that great but had to send the application to the lawyer on urgency.

Do you think there could be a problem ? Or digital pictures would be fine ?

Nowhere does it state that digital pictures are not accepted. On the I-485 form it states that it has to be natural in colour, a recent photo of you (last 30 days), unmounted, glossy, and not retouched in any way. They must show all your facial features.

Sometimes photos get rejected because there is not enough room on the photo between your head and the top of the photo, but that is a rare case. So don't let any one dissuade you freebie. Your photos will be fine. Not to mention, what pictures AREN'T digital these days? Sorry CVC, but I really don't understand your answer.

          Photo requirements

God!! I never thought taking a passport photo can be so stressful and expensive in the states.

CVS, UPS store etc.. sucks at taking at passport photos.

For my I-485 application I found a photo studio who claimed to take photos for immigration purposes. Infact he did a good job in capturing my picture nicely but when he cut them in to single pieces they have ROUND edges. I paid $35 for 6 photos. hhuh!!
Now I'm more stressed if rounded edges will be Ok for green card application purposes?

I hope somebody could help/answer my question.

          Thanks much in advance!!

              Dear Admin,

              Thanks for your reply.
I should have done this in the first place.

But can I use the photo that I already have. I just want to know if rounded corners(edges) are OK in a passport photograph for Green card application.
If not, I would have to take new photographs like you suggested.

              Thanks much!

Rounded corners photographs are not acceptable. I don't see any reason why someone did that in the first place.

                  Thanks once again.

Will try to take picture myself and follow your instructions.

These people(at the photo studio) not only take such photographs, they also strongly argue that such photographs are accepted for passport, visa and immigration purposes and they've been in the business for more than 30 yrs.. oh well!!

                  Thanks!
