Need Help - Please

Hi:

I applied for citizenship on 06/09/07, my receipt date is 06/21/07, but I still haven't got my fingerprinting notice. I have to go to India next month. Can I request the fingerprinting to be done after I return - how can I do this? Am I still in the processing timeframe or can I make an Infopass appointment?

Also, I do not understand under what heading should I look in current processing times for citizenship applications. Any help would be great.

You should be getting it soon, once you get it, just walk in on any wednesday afternoon or saturday am. and you should be fine.

it takes 4-6 weeks after you mail to get the finger print notice.
and appointment is usually in 1-4 weeks from that time.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that you could walk-in for finger-printing. Do you know if there is a long wait for walk-ins? Also, it is already 7 weeks since I mailed the application. I hope I get it soon.

They looked at it and told me go ahead and fillout a bio form.

Hi:

I guess you were lucky regarding the walk-in. I was told that they no longer allow walk-ins(San jose office) before the date mentioned on the fingerprinting notice. Also, it takes them 5-6 weeks to re-schedule the appt. So, I have handed it over to them for re-scheduling.
