dependents and evidence for financial support?

Applicant is in US but spouse and kid are living abroad. Also the spouse is working or is a business owner abroad. I think in this case spouse is no more a dependent. What about the kid? Is the kid dependent on applicant? Is it necessary to attach any financial support documents with N-400?
If 'Yes' what kind of court or govt. order will be necessary?

A dependant is any person that you have to support. If your wife and children will not be staying with you, all you may need to show is that your wife has income and is taking care of the children. If you have no financial tie, then they are not dependants.
