Border Line question on AP

Hi, I just got my 140 approved and will be doing 485/ EAD. I have plans to go to India in Jan.

Do I need AP.
i.e I am applying for EAD but may be in India while EAD is in works or may be mailed to me while I am in Inida...

If you have unexpired H1 visa stamp and visa status by the time you enter US, you don't EAD/AP else you do.

If H-1b is valid but stamp is expired and use AP to enter USA, do I need EAD or can continue working on H-1b?
